I can't imagine they said to Green he would be 100% assured to be first choice when he joined, in fact we know they asked Fat Pad to stay and fight him for it - but if Green had known someone like Cesar was coming along I doubt he would have signed. Interesting and certainly not what I expected. I maintain that Green is a damn good keeper but Cesar is a whole different gravy.

I agree that Cesar is one of the very best in the world - but what will some of our fans think of his style. I mean, he doesn't adopt what you would call a European style when it comes to handling the ball

well that's the thing behind it all innit. TF quoting 1.5mill paid in fees but actually the wages is where the megabucks are being spent. however with someone like cesar between the sticks we'd be ok with our current defence!

his style is, hmm, exciting shall we say. whereas rob green's is more, 'you've been framed'!

Welsh supreme Pulis is also looking to snatch Michael Dawson from under the noses of Q.P.R., who have reportedly had a bid accepted for the central defender.

Stoke could use captain Ryan Shawcross as bait in any potential transfer, which could see the former England under-21 international move in the other direction.

Dawson, who has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane since Andre Villas-Boas took over, is also being touted by Sunderland.

The Potters are set to go into a three way battle for the former Nottingham Forest defender who has been capped by England four times and are on the verge of making a £10 million bid, which could involve Shawcross in a part exchange deal.
