I post on lfw mainly, but also here if a thread is started that is relevant to me, I think the thing that non members hate here ( and I will probably get some now) is this infraction point thing, makes the place sound like a playground of naughty kids IMHO

Fair point mate. I have to say though I think its not a bad way of giving out a warning though rather than just being banned instantly if you go abit OTT on a post.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Well, nice to have you here in any case.

Difference between you and some others though my friend, is that although you may not like the system, you don't appear to have let it ruin your life. It's hard to believe sometimes, how worked up people can get for receiving a gentle reminder to be civil towards other Rangers fans.

The system is there, as Matty pointed out, not for the purpose of irritating people for the sake of it, but as a way of allowing people to transgress at times, without them losing their ability to carry on posting. Obviously, if they keep on misbehaving then that could happen, but that is entirely up to them.

PS: You will have to be considerably more unpleasant than that to get any points from me.

Let me also point out that the dreaded, despised and maligned infraction points system was not in place initially. We had to introduce it because people were moaning about us being unfair, subjective, etc. Well now it is more transparent and logical and all mods see it happening and can dispute it if necessary. Everyone gets a chance, unless they start raving about eating fried hamsters for breakfast, that is an instant ban.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

Maybe you should ask some of your posters that have left the site?
Wouldnt that give you an easy answer....?
              Try this for size..
Racism, cliques, inconsistent mods, favoured posters, bullying, people constantly pretending to be hard-(but i'mm sure they are), IKK's links to the lap dog, that f-ing drum etc....

As a site, its agreat site, just not for all i think.

Wish you all the best, and thats genuine !

Prefer other sites but usually read whats poste0d here..and before the idiots comments..its because i'm at work; bored..not beceause i cant stay away.....

Try asking Benny (he still pposts) connell 10 and many other old posters....even facto moved..and everyone knew who he was...if he couldnt take the heat and wanted to go home..who cares...he's happy here...

Your mods still have the PM addresses of why..if they were bothered they could easily find out...

              Good luck boys!

But IMHO it is often clear without asking, some people will get frustrated with one forum and move to another, happens all the time and on all forums, can't please all people all of the time no matter what we do. Some old posters are movin on, some new ones are joining. I am glad there are many QPR forums out there, each offering something unqiue, each having people that love posting there. We are not competing - we are complementing. Would be boring if there was only WATRB or only Loft for Words or only IndyRs, etc.

purely out of interest, what was the first online fans forum? I'm talking throughout the league and not official sites.

also, which was the first Rs forum? I'm asking because a Norwich supporter (of all people) told me that he thought one of the early Rs boards was one of the first anywhere. Scuse my ignorance, but I really have no idea of the online support history.

I do know from talking to non R mates that there is an idea that the Report site is some kind of officially sanctioned area. To me its always read like half a dozen blokes knocking it back and forth to themselves, but with good archive links....

I think it was Battletank's forum, I remember posting there just a few times in 96 or 97, very limited Internet access back in those days.

well, you know what they say about taking one to spot one.... ;)

the early days of the interweb are interesting because there were literally no rules and no corporate ownership of sites - and consequently no advertising.
In other words it was a pretty unique environment.
