One-time Birmingham striker Mauro Zarate has ruled out a return to the Premier League after declaring his intention to stay at Lazio.
Zarate, who enjoyed a loan spell at St Andrew’s in 2008, was linked with a move to QPR in January, with manager Mark Hughes thought to be an admirer of the Argentinian forward.
The striker spent last season on loan at Inter Milan, but having returned to Lazio, Zarate has pledged his allegiance to the capital club, ending any hope Hughes may have of reviving a move.
