defoe guarantees goals but u can also guarantee he will play selfishly. he's like darren bent, they both get goals but the team play worse as a result of it. its also unlikely he'd have a decent partnership with cisse.

berba would be a smaller fee, on similar wages and fit in our squad better.

obviously rather have defoe than DJ up front, but when u consider the fee, age & wages we can do better

You're talking about Defoe being selfish and then say Berba haha, he's probably the laziest professional footballer in the world, how would he fit in?!

Why do we need another striker! Cisse and Zamora starting with AJ and Bothroyd as back up. People saying AJ is that good. Did alright against us didnt he?

I'd love him at QPR, has scored goals wherever he has been.... however...

£9 million is a huge amount of money- especially for a 30 year old.
How will we keep all these players happy? Zamora and Cisse will not settle for being on the bench if they're fit. That's working on the basis we play 2 up top.
Our turnover of players is crazy- we have pretty much signed a new team for the last 4/5 transfer windows...

Don't get me wrong I'd bite your hand off to sign him and all of the problems he would bring are good ones.. just think we might be trying too much too soon.

Why because we have one striker who is a out and goal scorer who we can guarantee will score goals aj and Zamora are not reliable enough to get the goals we need. Defoe is like cisse you know he will score. Like I said in my other post look how we reacted when cisse picked up a knock on your it was worrying.

Will be gutted if we splash anything over 5m on Defoe...

Already have the 3rd oldest squad in the Premiership. Have a good core set of players, now need to add exciting young players that will be good for years to come.

At this rate huge amounts of the squad will need replacing in the next 2/3 years

I can't see it. Not because we won't spend that amount of money or that he won't want to come but because Spurs only have 2 strikers incl him.

Exactly my feelings too. Only reasonI haven't minded signing over 30 players is because they were all free till Defoe rumour ( not counting Cisse or Zamora as they were a must when we bought them )
                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

There's a rumour on twitter (rumours eh?) saying Defoe has left the Spurs training camp in America. I guess the first thing to establish is if this is true. If true, then there's a good chance he's going to talk to us.

                      Any ITKs able to help?
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

His cousin died Rich, that's why he left the training camp. I'm not ITK but that's been in the news.

He left because his cousin was electrocuted in a swimming pool on holiday

There were numerous reports about is cousin dying and him returning to the UK. It would seem very strange under these circumstances that he would be using the time to sign up to another club.
