I don't blame them for not singing it because too many idiots seem to think England and Britain are the same thing. They're not. The English seem to have rejected their national identity in favour of the British one. The Welsh and Scots have hung onto theirs. That's why so many Welsh and Scots don't get involved with Britishness, because its also seen as Englishness.

I'm not supporting this Team GB nonsense. I'm English and my country is not represented, although many of my countrymen and women are competing under the Team GB umbrella. I didn't cheer Andy Murray on at Wimbledon and I won't be cheering him on for Team GB either.

Why is your country not represented Richard? Genuinely interested. I think Your right with Englishness, being abandoned, but i think it's because to be English is viewed as bad/negative/racist even, because of politicians, and this multicultural thing they're pushing, so they prefer us to all be British, not English. I do think England should have our own Anthem, but these Welshman are representing GB and jumped at the chance to,... so sing the anthem, the one that their Welsh brothers go to war and die for, not much to ask for is it?

I understand your sentiments on this but our anthem is not about the nation, it is solely about a German woman. Prince Philip's sisters were married to high ranking SS officers during the war and the monarchy were keen to form an alliance with Nazi Germany. I love England but would never sing this anthem. Doesn't make them, or me, any less patriotic.

England is represented at the Commonwealth Games but not the Olympics. But look at the wider issue at the eradication of England and the English. Google the term 'nations and regions'. Ask yourself why England is the only country in the union that does not have its own government. Ask yourself why only England pays prescription charges and tuition fees when Scotland gets both free.

I belong to the Campaign for an English Parliament and have attended several meetings at the House of Commons and appeared on TV and radio several times on the issue of eradication of England and English identity. The issues a lot deeper than you think. The English are slowly but surely being eradicated in favour of Britishness. To be Scottish is to be a braveheart. To be English is to be a racist right wing nutter.

When you understand how England is being rubbed off the map you'll understand why it's important to oppose Britishness.

So we are pretty much in agreement then to be English is looked down upon. As i said above it suits left wing politics to push Britishness to accommodate multiculturalism. The reason i asked you the question was because i thought England was part of GB so we were represented.
