Then we have to get in from another long day at work and watch TV highlights of billions being pissed up a wall. Its all politics anyhow as Cameron needs the feel good factor this will create in the sheep and so will that weasel Boris as he rides it all the way back into goverment and maybe even party leadership...watch this space.
Oh and for the record - why should you get "help" because there is a recession. We are all paying for it. As a business you take a risk - you probably would not be giving all your millions away if your business had made you a millionaire.Last edited by silvercue; 07-08-2012, 08:51 PM.

The 'Great' actually just meant bigger than Brittania Minor, which is pretty much modern Brittany. And not a claim that Britain is brilliant.

and the "help" i was referring to is not cash payouts but help as in tax relief and business rates deferral...anything to help small business's survive because without us the economy will never recover. Take a look at your local High Street...see those empty units? now imagine them all empty except for the multi nationals and that Silver is a bleak future for us all. I suppose it shouldnt surprise me as this generation seems to have the attitude of "enjoy it now and pay for it never" as that is what has put us where we are today. So enjoy the games, dont think of the politics or the wider aspects or impact of a recession hit country paying out all those billions, of the little man trying to survive a 30 -40 per cent hit in his business due to downward trends in tourism thanks to these games. Enjoy yourself cos your alright Jack and **** it worry about it when it affects YOU.Last edited by vblockranger; 07-08-2012, 11:02 PM.

Whilst there might be an awful of people who are not interested in the Olympics - there figures suggest that there are an awful lot of people that are:
The page you are looking for was moved to different url or no longer exists. Were you looking for any of the following pages?
..and of course, that's just the UK. Wonder what the figures WW are like.
"and just putting your head under the covers like sheep and not wanting or caring how much this has cost is a symptom of current society."
...and although it sounds harsh - what is doing the opposite at this point going to achieve. Nothing. Absolutely nothing at all. You cannot affect it. It's here, it's happening. Personally, as I mentioned above, I try and not expend too much energy focusing on the negatives of something I absolutely now cannot affect in any what whatsoever. What's the point? Protest as much as you like in advance if you don't agree with it - and you should do that - it's right to help people achieve a balanced view, but once it's here - what's the point? Might as well just embrace it and enjoy it for what it is in SPORTING terms.

I am thoroughly enjoying the Netherlands- New Zealand ladies hockey at the moment. For many reasons
Almost a decapitation at 27:45 here though. That must have hurt. A lot.
Crowd reaction on the replay is funny too...
