"Imagine a relationship that went wrong but you held on in there for years: that's what it is like supporting a football team. Your loyalty to a team can never die. Ties are stronger than they could ever be with a woman. If she goes and sleeps with your best mate, it's over. If the Rs' boss, Ian Holloway, slept with my best mate, QPR would still be my team. Even if many of the things that you loved about going to matches have gone - terraces, team shirts without sponsors and being able to smoke at grounds - you still stick with your team." - Peter Doherty.

Reading made it to 8th in their first year in 2006 with an inferior squad to ours this year. It could happen. That said we have to start winning away first.

          Good read

'If Adel Taarabt is QPR’s spirit, Faurlin is its heartbeat. Tough in the tackle, extremely comfortable in possession and blessed with a passing range that is nothing short of exceptional, Faurlin is without question one of the most underrated midfielders in the country.

          That's quite a quote

Confirmation of his ability is evident in the knowledge that some of Europe’s elite clubs, including Arsenal and Napoli, both expressed an interest in securing the young Argentinian’s signature prior to his serious injury.'

I feel really bad for saying this but maybe it wasn't an awful thing he got his injury, though I feel very bad saying that but Ali has a lot to give at QPR
          Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
          And many more mistakes

Faurlin is World class. I don't use statements like that lightly but the boy is that good. He is our most important player, of that I have no doubt!

Well Arsenal & Napoli wanted him. John Gorman really found a gem in Faurlin that's for sure

I think it would be more measured to say he has the potential to be world class - that half season in the premier league highlighted his ability but in order to hit the tag you have given him, I think he would have to perform to that level consistently for a couple of seasons against the best sides in the Country.

Really mate? I was pretty sure it was Gorman. But dodgy contracts would have been Gianni!

This. Don't get me wrong, I love Ale, he is superb and was taking to the PL like me to a freshly baked brownie last year before his injury. But World class is a statement used way too easily these days. World class should be for the top handful of players in their positions and Faurlin is nowhere near that sort of level. World class CMs are the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Yaya Toure, Sneijder etc.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
