As you've resorted to abuse, I will step out of this conversation with you.

As for being thick, you may in future address me as QPR Richard BA (Hons)

Because we like you very much and we don't want you to log out. But I see now that you have logged out nonetheless, that was very selfish of you.

Putting aside name calling, handbags and BAs, we all really have to hope that in the event of a deal going ahead there is proper transparency re debt - the best laid plans etc....

No one can say for certain that the increased gate will justify the move financially, there are good reasons for being unconvinced right now. Which makes deal transparency even more important.

How can you be unconvinced when an announcement is yet to be made? Where is the site? What's the capacity of the ground? Design specs? What season will we be moving into it? Do we currently know anything so far? There is so far nothing to be convinced of.

Currently, this is an idea. We can only speculate as fans on the stadium project. Our speculation cannot be used as evidence to support how the stadium will be financed, which is currently all there is.

We can speculate that the cost of the stadium will be affected by various things, like bigger support, increased sponsorship deals, increased facilities for revenue (hotels, casinos, cinemas etc), as a venue for other events (such as music, rugby, wrestling, boxing etc), naming rights. Although the reason we can speculate this, is that these are the ideas coming from Tony, Amit and Phil.

The fact we need to move is a no brainer, and that is currently the only thing we know for certain.

I have spent 15 minutes reading this thread from the beginning and despite the earache I think it's quite clear that none of us have a clue how the finances are structured.

What is also clear is that there is lots of money being pumped into the club and that will have to be repaid sooner or later. To say the club has no debts while the shareholders remain out of pocket is verbal sleight of hand at best. As long as our owners remain interested we have nothing to worry about. If they lose interest or if they hit the financial rocks like so many others have done then we can start praying.

Because I'm not convinced by the proposition that 'we need to move'. It's as simple as that. How can you be convinced we do need to move when, as you rightly say, you have no idea how any such deal would be structured? And when you do know that EPL income streams suggest that gates are far less important than they used to be (for reasons endlessly recycled on here and elsewhere by a variety of people)?

Even if you took the argument about income streams out of the equation for now, TF is on record as saying that we could've sold 20k season tickets for 2012-13. That alone warrants a new stadium assuming we stay in this division, which is likely given the investment in the squad and the new academy due at some point.

It should also be taken into account that Phil Beard has said the new stadium will not just be for football, it will be multi-purpose. This will add revenue for the club. Don't any of these arguments put forward by various posters convince you at all?

Then why do Manchester United and Arsenal get 35% and 40% of total revenue from matchday overturn, if it's so unimportant? That's a hefty statement to make, and Id like to see something to back it up.
