Read this and make up your own minds that we can build on wormwood scrubs!

In 1879, the War Office bought 135 acres of land known as Wormwood Scrubs to “create a metropolitan exercising ground in pursuance of the Military Forces Localisation Act 1872”. Although military ownership has continued to this day, the Wormwood Scrubs Act 1879 laid down conditions under which the area was to be owned by the Army, placing the land in the care of the Metropolitan Board of Works to ensure that, alongside military training, the land could be given over to “the perpetual use thereof by the inhabitants of the metropolis for exercise and recreation”. The Act gave the Board of Works and its successors the ability to maintain and improve the land, subject to the consent of the War Office or its successors for approval (with an adjudication process laid down for cases where approval could not be agreed). The Act also prevented the Army from building any “permanent erections” other than rifle butts and “their related appurtenances”. The Act allowed the Army to prohibit entry by civilians during periods of military training. It also banned military training on public holidays.
The Act remains in force today. The successor body to the Metropolitan Board of Works as civilian trustee is the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and the Ministry of Defence has replaced the War Office. In 2005, the government made clear that the Act is still adhered to by all parties, and that the military may still use the area for training

Anybody who works in design and construction knows this is high level at the very most. For a construction contractor to be involved design tender drawings need to be available..what a load of ********.

Then there's the small matter of the MOD who own a rake of the land around there
From what i have read this guy was heavily involved in the construction of the madejski at least. Chances are he may know a bloke.

He also never attempts to post silly rumours (almost unheard of on here I know) so no reason to doubt!

Let's hope it comes to fruition as its as close to ideal as we are likely to get! Don't fancy park royal much!

Still within W12. I would certainly prefer behind Unigate!

Linford Christie stadium is right by the hospital and prison, plus Burlington Danes school and Latymer school's playing fields.

          Traffic would be a nightmare!

But we haven't got exactly many choices if we want to stay in the area!

Telling people it's the 'perfect site' probably won't help them to negotiate the price downwards!!

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Lunch Box of the big man.... Incidentally my sister was at the athletics on Tues in the posh seats near the front by the track... £450 a pop... Anyway it was through Cadbury's and her husband's auntie had a mobility scooter and good old 'Lunch Box Linford' hitched a ride for a while on the way into the stadium and they all said what a nice guy he was... Personally, I was only thinking earlier how his Gold medal win will always have a whiff of suspicion of drugs cheating after the disgrace of how his career ended....

Yeah I agree, I think the mods should remove that comment just in case anyone reads or a sloppy Jurno copy's from this site.

Nice of you to share stainrodisalegend but I just think we should be careful
                Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                And many more mistakes

I wondered were that was going! Got to be honest Im a tad dissapointed with how your sentence finished.

Maybe the new Stadium could be called the LunchBox?

I also have "links" within the construction industry and have not heard a single whisper about the proposed new ground being at the Christie Stadium and because of the line of work I am in I can assure you that this is kind of project is something we keep a strong look out for

We supplied all the blocks etc for the new Wembley and Southamptons new ground plus the Westfield Centres in White City and also Stratford and so this kind of project is something we specialise in

                          Pure specualtion at this point

by the way. i dont think land is going to increase in value because a fan on a forum says its perfect....i think the owners know what
they have and why qpr want it already.....a comment on here wont make a jot of a difference

wondering how seriously ill people trying to rest will get on with a football/rock music arena outside their window..
not to mention the prison, the school, the poor access ..emergency access to hospital and prison...the last peice of green land in the area
                              and the land has covenants
