I hope we do, I really do...but I don't see Hughes playing this formation. The only formations I've ever seen him play are 442 and 433

I think you could be right!

The way the squad is shaping up I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us operating with a 4-3-3 or attacking 4-5-1. As such we would utilise 3 central midfielders and 2 wingers. I also think if we land all of our targets Derry will make way, if not in the summer then certainly in January when Faurlin is fully fit and Barton could come back into the managers thinking.

I think you are all forgetting that we haven't signed Ki or Hoillet, and I am not convinced we will.

          Is the correct answer.

Let's just stick all the midfielders on the pitch ala world/european champions spain.

              WHAT IF:

Hugh plans on moving Taarabt out of midfield? In the same way that Wenger took T Henry, who was originally a winger, and turned him into a striker, maybe Adel will end up playing a more advanced position? A bit deeper than Cisse.

I always thought that Adel would make a great forward after all he was our top goalscorer in the championship....

Hardly any of those goals were strikers goals though. He's far better coming from a deeper position. When have you ever seen him run in behind the defence to receive the ball clean through? Or make a run into the box to finish off a cross?

No objection to whoever said play him high up centrally, as this is basically where he played all 2010-11, but lets not start pretending he's a striker.
