                  I guess it all depends on the circumstances as well. So, for example, Furlong was probably one of the most important players for us in the era he was about. Similarly Kenny and Gorkks.

                  That said, in my time watching I'd go for:

                  Bowles
                  Clement

                  Bardsley
                  McDonald
                  Currie
                  Sir Les
                  Allen (Clive, not Bradley!)
                  Parker

                  Special mentions to:

                  Peacock (both of them)
                  Tarbs (for the promotion season)

                  Goddard (though that might just be because he was a personal fave)
