  • Bruno Alves linked with QPR

They are the latest reports according to sources in Italy.... AC Milan have enquired about him but were told by Zenit they needed to offer more than the 14m Euros QPR have bid for him...

Another Silly Season rumour? or could there actually be something in this?

Had a great Euro's for Portugal and cost Zenit 22m Euro's, can't see them letting him go for less than 20m which is way out of our price range. This would be a Man City type signing.

Can't see it, but would be the centre half we desperately need.

Park, Hoilett, linked to Berbatov. I can see Alves being convinced with the ambitions of the club.

QPR launch shock bid for Portugal star

QPR have launched a surprise bid to sign Portugal defender Bruno Alves, according to reports in Italy.
Italian newspaper Tuttosport claims Rangers have offered Alves’ club Zenit St Petersburg £10.9m for the 30-year-old, who appeared in all five of Portugal’s matches at Euro 2012 earlier this summer.
Landing a defender of Alves’ quality would represent a huge coup for the Loftus Road side, with Juventus and AC Milan also thought to be keen on the former Porto man.

he's a quality player but £10m for a 30 year old seems little steep.I wonder what his wages would be like

We can only name 25 so to cater for all these incoming we are still going to need a major clear out!

As nobody has tweeted anything about this yet I will take this rumour with a grain of salt

How old's Samba.... surely we could temp his club with that sort of money and we know he can perform in the prem, which would be an uncertainty for Alves.....

Alves is twice the player Samba is, though admittedly that's based on a small sample of games mostly at the Euros. He was one of the best defenders in the whole tournament though, and I reckon he'd be very comfortable in the Prem. Only question would be over his age, and whether we are willing to spend enough.

I reckon he'll go to a big CL club, but we can dream...
