Not quite true re point number 1.

Hoilet is under 24 and Blackburn are due a fee even though his contract has expired. If the fee can't be agreed between the clubs, it goes to Tribunal.

point number 1 is correct, Blackburn are due compensation not a fee. Not sure if only Blackburn get the compensation or if some goes to agents etc.

You're just playing with words! Blackburn get money via way of compensation. Is that not a fee for services rendered?

Mackie isn't leaving as he's happy at loftus road and just signed a new contract.

This is a good example of another poorly written article from the Mirror

I knew it was bowlocks when the words 'Blackburn, Championship and Promotion' all appeared in the same report!!

Mackie's a Ranger through and through and he's staying put, I'll wager my first doughnut of the day on it!
2011-2013, 2 seasons in the Premiership, 76 games, 14 wins........two years of my life I'll never get back!!

2013/2014 mediocrity topped off with a win at Wembley....

2014/2015 was pretty much the same as 2011-2013.....

              2015/2016, average at best.....

              2016/2017, same old, same old....

              2017/2018, aim low, avoid disappointment!

Its the hope that kills you!

Blackburn have no say over where Hoillett goes though so Mackie going to Blackburn doesn't influence his move to us, think the Mirror need to get some facts together.

But they cannot influence any move he might want. It's out of their hands he is not their player.

Be sad to see Mackie go as think he still has a role as an impact sub. BUT Park will presumably be first choice on the right. We also have SWP who had a poor season but also has 36 England caps and when he joined just six months ago was seen as one of our biggest ever signings (OK, I'll re-phrase that, most major signings). Plus for some unknown reason we still have Dyer. Now we are also being linked with Bentley. I know this wont make me popular but it wouldn't be the biggest shock in the world if Fernandes used the sale to claw back some money - and £3.5m (if true) is certainly a good price.

Have to agree. People talk on here like Mackie is our best player! With our new signings Mackie is now a squad player. He won't start games. £3.5million for one of those is good business. People keep saying he got a new contract. A one year extension. Hogan signed on for another year but that does not mean he is unavailable for transfer on that basis. Basically everyone has a price.

Not saying there is any truth in this story at all. But last season Mackie had a far better one than people expected. His stock may never be as high again as it is now and it might be if the right offer comes in then it will be accepted.

Got a fright for a second before realising this is bull. Would really hate to see Mackie leave, he's a top man.
"Imagine a relationship that went wrong but you held on in there for years: that's what it is like supporting a football team. Your loyalty to a team can never die. Ties are stronger than they could ever be with a woman. If she goes and sleeps with your best mate, it's over. If the Rs' boss, Ian Holloway, slept with my best mate, QPR would still be my team. Even if many of the things that you loved about going to matches have gone - terraces, team shirts without sponsors and being able to smoke at grounds - you still stick with your team." - Peter Doherty.

If we were to effectively swap Mackie for Hoilett from the playing staff with no NET outlay after compensation etc i'd see that as excellent business.

However, if, and it's a big IF, there was anything in this could it actually be more complicated and related to part funding of Samba, not Hoilett???

Yes i know he went to Russia, but it may be the case that the Russian's still owe money on that transfer. Part of our negotiation with them may be that we can take him for £X amount, but Blackburn are still owed £Y amount. We may be negotiating to pay small amount to Russians and cover the debt to Blackburn so all in we get a good deal. If that was the case and Blackburn were after mackie we could be discussing the option behind the scenes..... Persoanlly i don't think we really need him with the acquisition of JSP, JH (hopefully).....

I would rather Samba, if this hypothetical scenario could be acurate.

For those thinking it's unlikely, this is the exact reason why Newcastle are favourites to take andy Carroll back from Liverpool, becasue Liverpool still owe them millions from the deal, therefore say they owe £15m and that was to be the agreed fee if he signed for them, it would just be written off and Newcastle take him back without any outlay.

                              Compo stll to be agreed.
Moon Safari says he's flying out with Robert Green to join the squad.

How long was he actually with Blackburn Rovers. He joined them but was not able to play as he did not have a work permit (so I'm not sure if this meant he was actually a player). The reason for asking this is because (if I have read it correctly) since he is not a home grown player, you only have to pay compensation if he was at Blackburn for more than three years.
