berbatov is like a throw back to a 70,s flair striker so what with our history it would have to be him , oh and the fact he pisses all over defo as a forward player!

Am just waiting for the usual suspects to post "Berbatov is lazy and has no desire. I would play Mackie over him all day. We need the likes of Mackie in our team, not players who will not fight for the cause" ZZZZZZZ

Berbatov is pure class. Creates and scores for fun.

              Another vote for Berbs here.

Strange how no one's already snapped him up tbh.

                By the way:

LONDON (Reuters) - Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is willing to sell out-of-favour striker Dimitar Berbatov for five million pounds, the Bulgarian said on Sunday.

"I read the papers and I see they say 10 million pounds is my price. I go and talk with Sir Alex, and he says to me five million," the 31-year-old Berbatov wrote on his Facebook page.

Whoever bags him for £5m has got the bargain of the seaosn no doubt.... would love it to be us, but just can't see us being the best option that come in for hiim. I wouldn't be surprised if Wenger jumped on it as so cheap and proven, plus would suit their slow passing build up play....

Can't believe anyone would want Defoe over Berbatov.

                    a) Berbatov is better
                    b) Berbatov is more fun to watch
                    c) Berbatov would work better with our (current) best striker, Cisse
                    d) We don't have anyone who can do what Berbatov does. Bothroyd is probably the closest thing in our squad (don't laugh). The gap between Berbatov and Bothroyd is far, far greater than between Defoe and Johnson. And Cisse does what Defoe does anyway, better.

                      This.

And I love Jonathan Wilson's description:

"Berbatov seems somehow engaged in a permanent act of self-irony, as though demonstrating how illogical it is that 75,000 people should turn up to watch 21 other players hurtle around in pursuit of a ball."

Jonathan Wilson: Dimitar Berbatov has still got it but Ashley Cole appears to be losing it and Andy Carroll is just unlucky
