This isn't going to make sense as I hate downing but if we signed him I think that's a massive coup and he would certainly add something to our midfield! Sometimes players go to certain clubs and it just doesn't work it hasn't for him at Liverpool and my god he shouldn't of been at the euros but if he came to us a rediscovered his confidence and fitted in like e was at villa yes please!

Apologies for the misunderstanding. Just to reiterate I couldn't give a flying hoot where Downing ends up but in my opinion would be a very useful signing for QPR.
Thanks
Oh well we will see !!!!!

Apart from the all important issue of sorting a CB, and that really is THE most important thing for us, we do need someone with a bit of pace out wide since we're top heavy with an ageing strike force - unless of course Mackie plays as a wide front man with a specific job to do. SWP is just far too inconsistant for the top level these days, I wish that wasn't the case but it is clear as daylight.
It may well be Downing will leave Liverpool but I'm not convinced he'll end up here. Of those Brendan Rogers is rooting out, the one I'd like is Mr.Carroll on loan, who I reckon would be very interesting alongside Cisse. With proper service and confidence, Carroll will come good for someone. Unfortunately, we've also got Zamora, Johnson and Uncle Tom Cobbley to think about. All of whom - including Carroll - need some decent service from out wide, and you only create that with pace. I'm just not convinced that Downing is the man for that job, but unlike a few others I wouldn't write him off.

He posted this on the Stoke forum
Hi lads,
First post on here. I'm not a Stoke City supporter but I have some news for you.
I have it on good authority that Stewart Downing will become a Stoke City player before the new season begins.
As far as I know there is loan offers on the table from Stoke and QPR. However, Liverpool are more interested in permanent move and Stoke are in pole position to pay between 8-10 million.
The major stumbling block initially was Downing's wage at Liverpool is currently 75K a week and Stoke simply cannot afford that. QPR want to loan Downing and are willing to pay Downing's full wages.
But my understanding is that Downing has been told he is not in the plans at Liverpool and that Stoke and QPR are his options at the moment. Downing would prefer a move to Stoke and Liverpool want a permanent deal with Stoke willing to do a deal for around 8 million.
Downing will leave Liverpool this Summer if it is on loan he will go to QPR and if he is willing to take a pay cut he will be permanently a Stoke player.
That is all I know at the moment. I understand I will most likely be laughed off the forum here but I have the above on very very good authority.

How pathetic are some people to want to waste their own time creating some fantasy and posting messages on forums..... Your life must be pretty pathetic that's all i'll say. Do you not have any friends or something and want to interact with forum folk..?
Anyway, after all that what was the point.. it's not as if QPR fans will have gotten their hopes up about Downing and then be "gutted" when proved to be such a cunning hoax..... Oh no how will we all survive.
