      [QUOTE=masher;897738]Hi lads,

First post on here. I'm not a QPR supporter but I have some news for you.

I have it on good authority that Stewart Downing will become a QPR player before the new season begins.

As far as I know there is loan offers on the table from Stoke and QPR. However, Liverpool are more interested in a permanent move and QPR are in pole position to pay between 8-10 million.

The major stumbling block is Downing's wage at Liverpool is currently 75K a week and QPR will not pay that. QPR want to loan Downing but Liverpool and the player would prefer a permanent move.

My understanding is that Downing has been told he is not in the plans at Liverpool and that Stoke and QPR are his options at the moment. Downing would prefer a move to QPR and London and Liverpool want a permanent deal with QPR willing to do a deal for around 8 million.

Downing will leave Liverpool this Summer as he has been told he is not in the plans at Liverpool and QPRs financial clout puts them in a better position than Stoke.

That is all I know at the moment. I understand I will most likely be laughed off the forum here but I have the above on very very good authority.[/QUOTE

I F#####g hope not wouldnt want him his record is disgusting for Liverpool

Decent player, wouldn't be opposed to a loan move. Would hate us to spend anywhere near £8m on him, though.

Quite incredible. How times have a changed on this board. A player of downing's ability but he's not good enough for QPR.

Why slate a player who hasn´t quite made it at Liverpool.? To me It seems like that club(pressure, I suppose) strips a player for Confidence at(?) a fairly high rate.
To be honest, Downing used to be a good crosser of the ball.

i like downing, i think hes a very controlled player keeps his width, passes well and (apart from last season ) assists goals and chips in with a few.

I think Brendan Rogers will want to keep him so i would not take this to seriously

Just cause he plays for Liverpool means nothing

                          Hi mate

Can I just be a little clearer. I had a chance meeting with a very reliable source and close friend of Downing himself and his family. My mate is a good friend of the source and actually told me about Downing's move to Liverpool in May of 2010.

Apologies for the misunderstanding. Just to reiterate I couldn't give a flying hoot where Downing ends up but in my opinion would be a very useful signing for QPR.

                          Thanks

Cheers for the info mate, dw about the people having a pop.

Ive heard the same rumour from a mate of mine whos from Lpool (tbf my mates far from ITK though so I took it with a huge pinch of salt!). Sounds quite reliable on your part though. Have to say Im not overly excited by him but hey ho, if he was to come I would back him fully.
