    yes

yes i agree about clive allen he was one of those really charasmatic players who you just had to love

his desire to put the ball in the net was just so wonderfull

i remember watching him make his debute against coventry at home at loftus road

and it was the most amazing debute, clive comes out hes only 18 years of age.billed as the boy wonder we thought like so many boy wonders he would be uselss

we were already relegated givens had only scored 4 goals all season and bowles had only scored 6
so along comes clive he was so young he was just a mass of curly hair and two long skinny legs he
    looked like a paper boy

because of his size he didnt really do anything in terms of approach work

but then it happened a free kick 25 yards out from the goal and clive allen just cooly
hit that ball like a rocket, ill never forget the look on givens face, that one strike of the ball was enough ,then clive hits another rocket and we are two nil up I THINK WE WON THE GAME 4-1

but the penelty was the funniest givens and bowles had pla#### useless the whole season and were arguing which one of them should take the penalty

when clive walked up to them and snatched the ball of them next thing he had put it on the spot
and like a thunder clap it hit the back of the net

after watching clive allen that day even though we were already relegated we all felt that we still had a future

i dont think swp has ever shown his early city form , he was useless at chelsea and it just hasnt happened for him here , with the new signings u wouldnt think he,d get a game but who knows. he was so predictable last season cutting inside the defenders why wouldnt he go outside

either his legs are gone as some think, or it was confidence or fatique.. both the latter can be fixed and he will be quality...if its the legs...
that is testable through science and i guess he will be gone..hope it was fatigue though, still like him to have a good season

He has been getting worse for years. People talk about confidence as if that is some kind of green light to be cr@p - getting over things like that is part of being top of your profession and if he can't do that he isn't good enough - he is paid amongst the best in his profession, so should be able to perform better. He can't control a ball most of the time and can't mange a 5 yard pass most games and people say that's because he is out of position.

He played in his preferred positin also and played badly. He was hardly burned out. he just is no where near as good as his hype and wages suggest, especially as he is a one trick pony.

I would like to see him play well next season, but am far more exceited about a lot of our other players.

True more than most realise. Betty is not popular behind the scenes.

I heard from someone who works with someone who is close to the squad. Sounds like ******** I realise. But I don't have anything against Bothroyd. Therefore no reason to make stuff up. The word is that he's not liked by anyone at the club. They insinuated he is hard to get on with.
