Don't see the point as he and Cisse won't play together. I also wouldn't say a player they hardly play who they don't want, and is 29 is worth £8m.

£8m is a very fair price for a 29 year old regularly scoring International English player.

Would never turn my nose up at a player of Defoe's quality should he become available.

Exactly. Defoe is a great player, give him a run of starts and he will give you goals, its that simple.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Yeah but you have to ask yourself why he never gets picked regularly by clubs... happens again and again.

Also, no denying he's a good goalscorer, but he won't play with Cisse, and of the two i'd rather Cisse any day, so why pay £8m for a player unless he'd play every week...?

but what if Cisse is injured/banned we have AJ.....and strong competition for places is also good, keep Cisse on top of his game, i do wonder though if Reading promised him a starting place he may prefer them

He says that he wants to move to play every week. Not sure we would offer him that.

If we had defoe MH would go 4-4-2 against mid to bottom table teams coz the strengh in midfield and those two up front we would dominate and score for fun

8 mill for a fw when we have 2 good similar players "Cisse (who is better) and AJ is :XD:. We also have Bobby Z and Heidar. We don`t need any more fw:s. Buy us defenders.

A club like ours can't have top players as back ups for starters. Cisse is premium, AJ is Ok prem level back up. Zamora is MH premium big lump with HH / Both ok back up etc. I can't see us having Cisse and Defoe both on top money and one not playing.

If we thought that way we'd have top reserves for all positions. However, if MH had a system they could both start, then that's different a they would be lethal.. possibly as part of a front 3...?

Exactly, we got Cisse & for me Cisse wins all day long. AJ is a great back up i'd like to add
                      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

You seen AJ's scoring record these past few years?

Cant reply on him for the goals

                            AJ scoring record

                            2011–12 14 Apps 3 Goals
                            2010–11 27 Apps 3 Goals
                            2009–10 8 Apps 0 Goals

                            Diabolical scoring record

Was gutted when he joined us

Yeah i know what you're saying Del having top earners on the bench would seem very extravagant, and i'm not sure Defoe would want to sit on our bench either
