  • The "We've Just Won 5-0 Thread"

When was the last time we won so emphatically away from home?

I need a positive thread, as by all accounts what I am reading today makes me feel like, we have just been beaten 5-0.

A great win of course, but you are going a bit over board me thinks. I did not go but by all accounts, in the first have we were poo but in the second half much, much better and when they went down to 10 men after 60 minutes, they caved in. (is that fiar)

Well pleased with the result, but I wont be booking a function room just yet for a QPR promotion party in May 2010.

I don't think people are being negative , just cautious. An emphatic QPR win is always cause for celebration but it doesn't paper over the fact that in terms of the Championship, it doesn't mean very much.

not going overboard, two year ago we lost 2-1 at home to Orient, shows how much we improved on the pitch>

          Yes, spot on Paul.
I really enjoyed last night, but we need to keep a sense of perspective with two fairly tough away league games coming up (Plymouth won't necessarily be the pushover some think -- we don't ussually do very well down there).

You can't beat the fact that some of our fans prefer going underboard.

Last year we beat Aston Villa, that didn't make us Premiership quality though. Its one result. We need 46 more good ones !

Excellent win last night, im over the moon for JM and the players, a fantastic confidence booster!! This could really help us ahead of the plymouth and Bristol City games.....

The only other game that springs to mind 5-0 wise was when we won 5-0 at home to M'boro?....Obv that wasnt away though, so god knows!!
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Dont' disagree. Real stuff is this Saturday. I'm prepared for the argument "its only Plymouth threads" as some seem to be stocking ammuntion before we play them.

Every game in this league is difficult, lets just see how we do.

A year ago, we were pathetic against a lower team.

This year we done our job.

Great to see 5 goals, but it wasn't against anyone special.

You do make me smile by telling us we're not happy which is rubbish as i'm very happy. I was smiling to myself after the result, but you're getting carried away...FACT.

I was elated when we done posh at home last season who are a far better side, yet what happened to our season after that? I'm not turning this into another striker debate so don't have a :very_sad: but I'm just stating what happened last time we had a big cup win against lower opposition.

Loved the win at Villa and was happy(ish) after Manure, but we were toilet in the league and that was while we had our top scorer.
                          Your mum would love me...

                            Pete,

Whilst beating Exeter is hardly a momentous achievement, people have perhaps forgotten that just 3 days before, they only lost to an 88th minute goal, away to one of the favourites for promotion in their division. A game in which the "Great Jermaine Beckford", managed only 2 goals in 90 minutes, as opposed to Routledge's 3 in 65. Surely people can't have it both ways.
If they are that bad, then £2m for Beckford may be a little on the steep side.
If they are not, then a little credit for the 2nd half performance would not be too much to ask.

Pete...Plymouth ARE the worst tema in the league, but they ARE in the same league and have home advantage, so if we beat them...it's a great result, as will any win in the CCC be, but a win at a team who were playing league two football just a year ago is nothing to knock one out over.
