  • Hands Up..Who Was Wrong On Gary Borrowdale?

Never got a game unde Sousa, could never train with the first team, could not even train with the reserves, trained with the youngsters. Was told he was not good enouugh for this level, loaned out to Brighton. Ridiculed by all fans before he even kicked a ball. Was forever told, that the team was being picked by someone else and not the manager, well if thats the case why did Borrowdale never get a game?

Come on, who wrote Borrowdale off before he even kicked a ball for the r's?

Not me, however I still maintain he's not the answer. Always said he deserved a chance but although he's played very well my major concern is his pace. Something a full back needs when coming up against wingers.

i didnt think he'd be any good after Delaney getting picked in front of him last season. But after what i saw on Saturday i realise i was wrong to write him off. Hold my hands up.

He wasnt picked under sousa cos he was about 2 stone over weight not cos hes a rubbish player cos its quite clear hes not. I sat in a box with him for a home game last season and he looked like a completly diffrent man. Fair play to the bloke he has worked hard and is getting wot he deserves. Conners for center half im afraid is a must.

He done nothing wrong, but like wise done nothing brilliant against an average Blackpool team on Saturday and played OK for 45 minutes last night and you want him to get the freedom of W12.

Don't want him to get the freedom of W12, but only fair he gets given time.

Wozza, your right about Connolly best position centre back. Had a ppor first half at right back, but improved as the game progressed.

Wrong about Borrowdale, he was treated like ****.

                Treated like s**t??? Really???

I agree, he was condemned by many before he played, but no one berrated him. Sure, a lot of fans questioned the signing...even you did when he went to Brighton and that's a fact mate.

Treated unfairly without a chance...yes, but treated like s**t...no chance.

Ramage, Dex and Cerny were treated like s**t last season.

PETE - QPR do not have time to experiment and that's what pre season is for. Draw 5 games you should have won (already happened once) and that's the difference between another season in the Championship, the Play-Off's or promotion.

Interesting...we have to give the strikers five or six games before we judge them, but two games is enough to decide that Borrowdale is the answer at LB.

                    Why's that then?

I don't actually think Borrowdale has been slated to be fair. We have all been mystified by the transfer and all that has happened whilst he has been at the club.

You say that is a clear sign that the manager was left to manage, but the flip side (and the one we all saw) was that clearly he wasn't left to manage as players that he didn't want were forced on him.

Good luck to Borrowdale; I hope he does prove his point and becomes a key player for us. Whatever happens though, it will always rankle that a player was bought in without the manager's say so by an ex-Agent masquerading as a bona fide Sporting Director / Director of Football.

Not the way to run a football club IMO.

Ben, I wasn't neccesarily talking about the fans.

Bernie's Barnet, Borrowdale is so much more assured than Delaney, a no nonsense left back and just what we need. Not making judgements on two games, but the other 5 pre-season games as well.

That means you have been told there is no new LB coming and you are now doing your stuff convincing people that he is the answer. (Same as you are doing re: Tarabbt and the striker we need)

Too early to say he's the answer.

However, it's true to say that his name had become used as a standing joke.
He's not as bad as that made him look. Maybe he can find form again with us.
We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are...

He had an average game against a team that needed a satnav to get out of their own half. I don't think that makes him Roberto Carlos just yet.
