  • Connolly the 4th centre back?

    On the tour to Asia.

Personally I think we should try and sign Kolo Toure.

And we might need cover at RB if Young is on his way. Dyer is too much of a gamble.

Nothing wrong with keeping MC as cover.

I would put money on him not being in our 25. Perhaps not offers for him so they are brigning him

I'm in favour of nine defenders in the squad so yes, there'd be a place for him.

Agree. Dont get me wrong I wouldnt have him near the starting 11 if we could avoid it, Id like to have our starting back 4 (Onouha Nelson Anton Fabio?) plus 3 others at least then him, but he is an OK player IMO, got a right bum deal by alot of fans when we got promoted despite being part of the best defence outside the PL. Certainly good enough to make up the squad numbers IMO.

He's a funny one Connolly cos I think technically he is a very good player but struggles physically and doesn't read the game well enough for me. Good Championship Defender imo

hes another player who i think should be tried out as a midfielder because he certainly isnt a center half

I'd just like to say I don't rate Connolly at all, not one bit. He's mean't to be a confident defender on the ball, he's not even that
                Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I am surprised Reading did not offer him a deal!

Connolly was great for us in our promotion season, but his form dipped towards
the end of the season when the pressure mounted with the threat of the points
deduction on top of the chase for promotion,i as all of you will remember the
whole situtation was very tense to put it lightly and as a consequence of this
i think Connolly could not handle this and his confidence became shot.

Think he still has a future with us and with his confidence restored and
the right coaching could still be a good player, whether he could cut it in the
                      Prem who knows.

To be fair Hughes did tell him to go to Reading play some first team football then he would have a look at him in pre season, and that's what he is doing.

Connors gets a rough ride. OK, no superstar but a steady performer.
