How many times have they finished up as top London Club? How many trophies have they won and how many times have they come even close to winning the first division title? So there you have it.........all those ##### on the cottaging forum are about ten years old and probably only supported them since they arrived in the PL and don't have a clue what it was like to watch them in div 4 among what, 2,000 fans?
Historically their fan base is tiny, the current figures account for those new wave PL only fans, tourists and neutral section; they are uninformed and clueless about our Club and personally, there is no doubt we are bigger in terms of history, fan base, away support and more than that, we are a proper football club with proper tradition whereas they have an extinct paedo as their status symbol and little else besides.
    In a nutshell, well said.

Honest answer: too close to call. Traditionally us but we have been out of the Prem for 15 years during which time the top flight has undergone a revolution. That put their noses ahead. But now with the head of steam behind us I would say we are drawing level. Be interesting to see whether Fayed responds (for a madman he has actually proved a surprisingly good owner of Fulham) or whether he has shot his bolt.

Level at the moment, but i think we're coming up fast on the inside rail

that don't make sense i mean we are pulling away from them on the inside rail

If your looking back in History and sizing up both clubs you would have to say Fulham, when we were an old third division south side they were in the first division , but if your looking froward i would rather have the backing we have now.

Back in the 90's when they were in the 2nd/3rd division thety were getting crowds of 4k ...we were averaging 12-16k during our years in the 2nd division.

Also look at the percentage of their home support that travels to away games.

Give them credit they have advertised well around the local area and attract a large percentage of tourist and jcl's ...also don't forget the neutral end at their
ground holds approx 4k which is usually full of away fans ...therefore 8k of their home attendance is away fans for the big games.

Away attendances suggest we have a bigger hardcore, or loyal, fanbase.

Recent years they have grown a lot though, in fact they have done a good job really.

Who is the bigger club is always a rather pointless debate, they can point to some evidence and so can we......but at the moment we have the smallest ground in the PL, the lowest attendances, haven't won a great deal in recent years, but are heading in the right direction.

I've got a tottenham mate staying an- he was surprise by the venom spouting from a foolham work-mate about rangers, spu- reckons we are a bigger club as you will always get a couple of r's in most towns unlike foolham

It depends on what your judging it on, if its support then we are similar in my eyes, agreed away support we are much better and always have been. Im talking on the field, they have had there time in lower leagues but there history makes them a bigger club, but as i suggested our future looks brighter to me.

Shirt sales might prove a good (rough) indicator of fan base? Surely something on the web to google.

                      WHOS GIVES A SH*T!

Im a QPR fan and therefore am a superior human to any Fulham fan. I don't care if they play in a stadium with a million fans and win the Champions League eight years on the bounce. The fact is that Fulham = BODS!

                      End of.

Nothing in it in my opinion which given we have spent the last 10years or so being relegated, struggling and being shafted by various owners reflects rather well on us.

I think the key is Fulham are probably as big as they are going to get where as we are currently on an upwards curve with the potential to get bigger due to our AMBITION

Fulham as far as PL goes, or size of stadium, current crowds etc. But QPR have finished higher in the league and Fulham hacve played at a lower level.

However, neither club is big and neither has a great history or honours list.

I would say they are probably even if some kind of points structure was set up for league records, crowds success etc.

we have appeared in more major cup finals than them.......we have a higher top league finish than them........we have supplied more english internationals than them.......ask most clubs who they prefer to play at home due to atmosphere etc...its us..............they can bang on about 25000 homes gates but only 16000 are 'fulham ' fans!
                              you know nothing john snow!!!!

I guess many (the majority?) will see them as the "bigger" club due to their affiliation with the Premier League and the recent(ish) Europa League final. And to be fair, using that criteria they would be correct.

However. Times must and always do move on...... and I bet that the few "original" Fulham fans out there are absolutely spitting feathers at what we are doing......
