Tim, that figure is for Loftus Rd against Leeds United in 1976, we had over 41,000 for a FA cup game, ironically again against Leeds Utd at White City in the late 1940's.

I also remember someone on here saying that we had several large crowds at White City in that period, but I have never seen any evidence.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

why would QPR need a 45k stadium ? you only filled LR last season on a few occassions..
I would suggest you're burning with jealousy there Hammer
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

As stated, yes at present 45k is too much, but believe it or not our owners have big plans and are building for the future. Yuo only have to look at how far weve come in 1 year, structure wise, to see that.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Reports I have read suggest a 35,000 seater stadium with the ability to add another tear at a later date, seating a further 10,000. This sounds a lot more sensible and realistic.

Thanks Dave! I was thinking to let ''all time'' out :=):
Perhaps the new record will be as easy to remember...45454?

Don't bite guys, TF has shown in the last year what he has to offer, then he has started to deliver on it and is now coming up with the sand and cement of his words.
As people can no longer tell us that our Tone is just a talker, incapable of backing his words with actions there has to be another way to bleed the jealousy. White elephant is new but at least it's a bit different to the rich man's play thing, the next Pompey when the money runs out/gets bored/is found to be a money laundering tax dodger etc......delete as appropriate

That would be the better option, like Brighton are doing with the Amex. It currently holds around 22k, but could be extended to 30,000. As a statement of intent though, 45k shows we mean business!

Or does it show we have enough room to fit hammer's elephant in
Seriously though, it would obviously be wise to build something that can grow organically. If it's a site that will ultimately be able to house 45k but currently with say 30k seats, that makes total sense.

                                unlike the Olympic Stadium
