    Thug Terry...

He's gonna get off scot free by the looks of it....

After the conclusion of the prosecution argument Mr Terry's legal team asked for the case to be thrown out.

George Carter-Stephenson QC argued Mr Ferdinand was an unreliable witness and lip reading experts, who had viewed television footage, agreed it was impossible to clarify what was said.

He said the case was "so weak and tenuous it does not warrant it going any further".

Chief magistrate Howard Riddle has adjourned the hearing until 14:00 BST, when he will make a ruling on this.

Terry trial day two: Chelsea captain denies snapping over taunts

Chelsea captain John Terry denied in court on Tuesday that he had "snapped" and used a racist obscenity after being taunted by Anton Ferdinand.
Terry, 31, is accused of calling QPR defender Ferdinand a "f****** black c***" during a Premier League match on October 23 last year.

John Terry has released this statement.

Son, we live in a world that has goals, and those goals have to be guarded by men with shin guards. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Fernando Torres?

I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Anton, and you curse Chelsea. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That the Ferdinand slur, while tragic, probably saved goals. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves goals. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that back line, you need me on that back line. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to fans who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the footy that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a kit, and stand a goal post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.
