Mackie to West Ham, elsewhere saying Campbell to Leeds. Cant we fob one of them off with Ron Hulse? Mackie not going to be first choice next season most probably but very handy sub to run about a bit for the last 20 minutes. £1m is taking the proverbial.

He was the first player to sign an extension after the season finished and he is contracted for another 3 seasons. He loves it here, Hughes clearly thinks he has a part to play and Tony Fernandes has been quoted as saying he loves Jamie Mackie cos he has QPR in his blood. This just paper talk......100%!!!!

Now the sub-Standard repeating the story (inevitably).
Tried to post the following on their website but without success (that doesnt work properly either, just like their journalism):
another shockingly bad piece of journalism from the standard. he didnt score 16 goals last season. if you must copy articles out of other papers a day late because you have sacked all your journalists and dont have anyone left to make a check call, at least employ someone who can read the original article. And this from the free sheet whose columnist wrote in this "London paper" that he hoped QPR wd be relegated. Why not put yourselves out of our misery and just close? No wonder QPR fans are boycotting it.

Trust me, Mackie is going nowhere!Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

The only sensible explanation is that the Standard needed to fill a few coloumn inches and couldn't come up with anything better than regurgitating a poor rumour that has been doing the rounds for a little while.

No, he's a key player for us, 1million is just a stupid price tag & he's signed a new contract. Lazy work by 'The Sun' no lessUnder Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I've long since stopped believing much that a newspaper comes out with, particularly in relation to football.
It always cracks me up when on the rare occasion they get something right, they publish a "We told you here first" type story. They would need to publish something the size of the Doomsday Book to highlight what they get wrong.

Every player has his price, but in JM's case, its not £1M.
I agree, every player has his price, but for a young player who scored 7 PL goals in his 1st ever season, albeit a bit part one, in the top flight, has got to be worth more than £1M, especially after having signed an extended contract. QPR paid £1.2M for Campbell who is older and has only scored a few more top flight goals.
This is probably just an out of date, space filling story, that all papers like to print during the close season when they don't have games to report on.

As for Mackie, he is nowhere worth below £3-4.
Christ.........He has got to be worth more than 3 quid..........
