Can posters stop running Anton down on here and get behind the lad and support him. He performed ok for us last season imo after Clint was alongside him, just needs a bit of guidance

Anton is a good CB when he isnt required to be "the leader". When he can concentrate on his own game and have a commanding CB alongside him (as he did the latter part of last year with Clint), he is a more than capable CB IMO.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I think we will see him improve massively as a player this season under Hughes and have a very good CB on our hands. Confidence is key with Anton.

Agree totally! CB is all about partnerships and AF has settled in well in my opinion.

Good post, really fed up with all these people running him down. People seem to think it was only due to Clint Hill that the defence turned it round towards the end of the season. Yes Clint was a rock but Anton does all the quiet stuff sweeping up that a lot of fans seem to overlook. If we had partnered Clint with Gabiddon, Onouha or Hall I doubt very much indeed that we would have stayed up. I think I must have been watching different games to some fans because Anton was immense in so many games eg Stoke at home.

That picture looks like he's got into some ones back garden during a BBQ and decided to get in the booze bin.

With all the media hype with the whole JT thing. Thought he handled it well.

Dragged back in when Rio v JT came up and the impending court case.

                    Think on!

From the sound of his twitter he's in full pre-season prep mode, doing some hard running ahead of getting back into training.

                      Good lad.

exactly he was brilliant at doing the simple stuff that goes unnoticed by most people. he had a fantastic game against tottenham at home as well, he won everything in the air and no one got past him on the ground.

Good post, i've never slated him, I think he's brilliant
                          Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                          And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

                              Why not?
I'm sure Rio thinks he's very good.
And I can be judged by Rio... He'd say I was sh!t.
