Who Was The Last QPR Player to Score 20 Goals In A Season?
Pete I think you are being naive if you seriously think that because Chopra or other strikers who have scored 20 in a season aren't that good if the team they play for hasn't been promoted in that season. It takes a squad to get promotion. One player can make the difference between a good team and a great team but if that one player scores 30 but his team mates concede 100 it is hardly his fault.
Are the likes of Beckford, Cox and Lambert bad players because their teams weren't promoted? No of course not they just play in a team where others in that team let them down. If you have a rubbish keeper or bad defence its not the strikers fault if you miss out on promotion as a result.
Would you not want Defoe because his Spurs team never win anything?
I'm not the biggest Dex fan by a long stretch, but am simply making the point people cry out for a 20 goal striker, and if he'd played until the end of the season he would have got 20.
The thing with Tarrabt, is in theory, he has all the elements that make a good striker. He is quick enough to evade defenders, certainly has the skill to go past them, the ability to create chances for himself, and lets not forget his greed side something all prolific strikers have!
The one problem i had with him Sat, is whilst he was showing all the above, his shooting was terribly weak and virtually always hit at the keeper. I think we should deffo stick with him up front, but lets face it, Tarrabt was never the problem, people want another striker to replace HELGUSON. Not Tarrabt, Not Vine, not even agyemang, the fans want rid of Helguson and Helguson only!
Will change my user name to half full when QPR give me reason too...
Surely the point now is that we have the resources that have never been available before and the realistic prospect of getting back into the top flight for the first time in 15 or so years and therefore should be looking to get in a top rated striker to lead this much improved squad the owners have put together.

No they spent the money on light fittings in the W12 club / executive boxes that no one uses.
