He has managed to sell a club that was going down the pan.
I really don't understand the dislike for GP.
The guy has so much passion for the club and I am pleased that he was kept on.

There was another consortium ready to take over the club, lead by Bill Power and he was assured by GP that Flavio's group was better for QPR, so BP stepped aside, so talk of we were only mins from admin is ******.

That was Favio and Bernie playing brinkmanship to get to best deal from the ppl who then owned the club.

I admit that if BP had taken over they did not have the money to match flav but they would have got rid of the ABC lone and that would have given us breathing space.

I think the reason why people dislike paladini is that he does have influence over the transfers, which is why in the last 4-5 years we have had some random signings that nobody could work out... I could go through a long list no problem.

Yes I have heard this many times I would love to know the details of this other consortium and indeed what there plans were with the club?

No doubt the job did BP did at QPR was outstanding.

BP was a very popular chairman with supporters and I was delighted when he took over from the other mob.

But I'm still not sure if I have ever heard anything in detail with relation to the alternatives?

Was BP not involved with Swindon Town FC at the time? Would there not of been a conflict of interest?

It's all very well people throwing these comments around but I would guess that the reality of the situation was that it was Flavio or bust.

Bill admits his group never had enough money to sustain and move the club forword and predicted that they could prob only keep the club going for about another year, but one big aim was to get rid of the ABC loan.

So flav was the saviour but was very close to being the catalyst for our demise.

I find it amazing how people are still trying to bring instability to the club again and again and again. The clever thing to do is label them our SAVIOURS and make out we are all being lead up the garden path but in fact they were the Saviours of the club at that point and other parties only had enough funds to delay the inevitable.
The company I work for went into Admin recently and have been saved by another Company taking us over, however there are still people moaning here, it isn't like it use to be blah blah blah, no your right it isn't because times change but we aren't in the mess we were before hand are we and you still take home your nice wage packet !
Facts are some people will never be happy, even if we get promoted this year, some will still #### off GP and FB, probably for alterior motives but without doubt had GP never joined the club, we would have been playing Luton and AFC Wimbledon or the likes by now but it seems that is the very thing some actually want !

I think your prob spot on, Bill would have only delayed our demise unless he would have been able to find new buyers in time....but the man was willing to put his money in.

At the end of the day, we have ended up with a very powerfull group of owners who in the long run will be able to do more for the club, than we could have ever hoped for, and a large dept of gratatude for this has to go to GP.
