  • I will lose all respect for him if he signed for QPR, as it's only about money....

If you're a reader of other clubs message boards, then the title of this thread should be quite familiar to you... which is not a recent thing either since we've been in the Premier league but also when we were a Championship club.

Why do fans of other clubs continue to believe that their club is a better option than ours and money is the only reason players want to sign for us?

I'm not saying that we are the better option but other things can also motivate a players decision to join this club.

In our case we are a football club based in West London which in my opinion and many others not through some sort of biased point of view is arguably the best place to be located in the country.

There is clearly a long term objective which the present board have about the direction the club is going which is discussed with players who may be potential transfer targets no doubt. Ironically there seems to be a cloak and dagger approach by the club which is good and not even our fan base fully understand what is going on behind the scenes despite numerous quotes giving an indication in the mass media there is.

Okay we have a small football ground and no it's not quite the same spec as many of our rivals. But our ground is atmospheric and old school so why do fans of other clubs assume players want to play in a shiny new stadium over Loftus Road. I'd be curious if there was a survey of Premier league players to list their top three away match experiences of the season. The majority of footballers like an intense atmosphere at a match it fuels the testosterone when they play and helps them up their game. You asked Gary Neville what he thinks of visiting our ground on Super Sunday or Monday night football he positively beams at the atmosphere.

Other motives which may make potential signings to choose us over our rivals would certainly include a nice financial package but what do these other teams supporters expect for us not to financially compete with other teams in the Premier league and fadeaway to give them an easier ride. Another motivation for a potential signing may have about joining our club may lie in the manager and his team as well as some of the players we already have at the club.

So to supporters of other teams who believe your club is an infinitely better option than ours take a real hard look at things before you pre-judge us as the problem may lay a little bit closer to home if your club is rejected at some point over ours.

people need to realise that this is a job, pays the bills, feeds the kids and hopefully if handled ok sorts you out for rest of your life at top end of the game.Bet if another firm offered them more cash 9 out of 10 would walk for it.

      Good post W12.

I suppose it's just bitterness, frustration and jealousy.

Probably a bit like how we felt when decent players were going to other clubs, whilst we had to watch the likes of ... Well, I won't name names, but you know what I mean.

Ever since we had this hugely publicized takeover by Flav & Bernie, people have disliked us because of all the money we have spent. They don't look at the facts of how little money was spent in that era, or for the 1st 3 years how badly we fared in the league, they just stuck to their warped agendas. Then just as the whole ship was about to sink NW got us promoted despite our two major sharteholders, but of course it was down to our money according to most . I think Brighton has got it spot on Bitterness, frustration, and envy, this was the very reason so many teams wanted us relegated. I always look at other teams boards and since the season has finished i have read loads about how we'll be adding competition to their club regarding signings.
It is annoying reading the i'll lose all respect for so and so if he goes to QPR, and having grown up telling people i'm a QPR fan, and them almost 100% of the time saying something nice back about us, i find it strange to be so disliked, the only thing i keep consoling myself with is that before we were no threat....... but now?..........

        Good post W12

Why do people think we splash the cash like Chelsea or City do? It's not like we pay all our players 80 or 90k a week do we? Top Premiership quality players often come with quite a high wage e.g. Barton, SWP, Bellamy etc..... People just can't face the fact that little old QPR can actually get top players now and can pay their wages, but that doesn't mean we can get any player we want. From what I hear from reports and stuff is that we are careful with the wages and aim to keep them as low as possible.

We spend our money like a top half-midtable side, just like how the likes of Sunderland do. People are a bit confused with our finiancial status with all these millionaires that own us, but they don't realise that they are not pumping billions into our transfer budget, but are giving us the amount a top half-midtable side would need, and that's where we're aiming to be next season anyway.

The likes of Norwich Swansea Fulham and a like wanted us down last season, mainly for one reason FEAR
they all new we would be more of a threat than Bolton and Blackburn this season, they are quite simply
intimidated by little ol QPR, just hope we add to their paranoia next season , us fans must also learn to give the
same stick to these clubs as we do to the big six.

Funny thing is even newly promoted clubs are splashing 6m on a player here or there. And then WBA went and spent 4m on a keeper when we went for the freebie option (albet no doubt with big signing on fees etc). So far all but one of our signings has been a so-called free-transfer and the only one that wasnt was agreed in the last transfer window. But if other clubs are resentful/ fearful then great. Got a bit bored being little old qpr who everyone quite liked because they let in soft goals and never really had a strategy to grow as a club.

the media made us out to be a big spending club when t/c came on board and fans read into that. fact is we spent pretty much fa compered to others who failed. i believe that the media who liked football started their dislike for us when the cn utish lot before behaved like they owned everything. they made print but delivered nothing to the real rangers fans. the dye was cast. we got taken over in a huge media spin, still spent reasonably(just quickly)and we were a figure of fun in some quarters. our present resting place among some clubs lies with the circus that was....the previous owners!! tbh i don't give a flying fc uk what anyone thinks cause its always been us against the world and i'm rangers and proud. u rsss.

Quite funny when you realise we have got Kieron Dyer for free. If we didn't signed him, what PL club would?

Good post. Alotta the mid to bottom clubs hate/envy us rather then the top ones. Lots say that we are the best away day for atmosphere therefore value for money.
