I don't think the new stadium will cost as much as some people might imagine. Yes, the cost of land will be expensive, but don't forget, we've got an asset for sale in a residential area, our current ground. The money we receive from our old ground will offset the cost of the new one.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I'm hoping Mr Mittal will look down the back of his sofa, find some loose change, and build us a palace of dreams!

Or a palace of dreamers if you prefer

I've done a little digging and I'm not convinced it's the Unigate site at all. It's been included in plans for the regeneration of White City. However, the BBC White City site has only recently been vacated and from what I've read, it doesn't have any immediate bidders for it. Yes, it would be expensive, but as I said earlier, there would be a trade-off from the sale of LR. There would also be various grants available to contribute towards the building costs and from what I remember, H and F council are keen to keep its three EPL clubs in the area.

The other thing is the site once had planning permission for sports activities having been of course been a place where we once played, a dog track, and hosted the 1908 Olympics. It also hosted a game during the 1966 world cup finals.

The site is large enough to accommodate other entertainments such as a leisure complex and hotels, and would provide employment in the area. I believe our owners have the financial clout and ambition to undertake this scheme and would be a perfect new home for us.

exciting stuff. New stadium In W12 -even more exciting. For me much more than 30'000 to kick off with would be daft. Sitting in half full stadiums is, frankly, depressing. But should the club kick on to the next level (fingers crossed) hopefully extending would not be too difficult.

Well season ticket sales have been good. Some estimates between 10-14k, add in 5-6k members, 5-10k for visiting fans depending who it is, a few thousand casual visitors from home and abroad, and you'd be reaching capacity straight away. This is without factoring in growth potential once the club is established in the EPL, the fact that we have a brand new stadium, and more foreign fans visiting. I think TF's vision of a 40-45k stadium is about right.

From what I have heard, the unigate freeholders are looking in the region of £20m per acre.

Remember we are in a prime location and our stadium is one of the most expensive in the UK other than Fulham and Chelsea.

Very appropriate, but sadly it'll probably be the Burgerking stadium or something similar.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

I'd be happy if it was The Nando's Arena

Like most on here I know the area well and its an obvious choice if we want to stay local, since the BBC 'alternative' is very murky water indeed. However, I think there are good reasons for staying put. Firstly, in the prem the TV audience is more financially important than the live audience and it is hard to see this changing in the near future. Secondly, modern stadia design discourages the in yer face intimacy of places like Loftus Road, and that is a big asset for us. Especially if German style 'safe standing' puts in an appearance at some stage, as many predict (and hope) - its basically stands with more intelligently placed barriers to limit surging.

I don't have aspirations for us being a physically big club, I just want us to survive, enjoy a bit of success and play some football. That is who we are. Isnt it?

is there any evidence ,apart from hearsay and gossip about this site , because about 9months ago they had plans for this in Westfield and it was a goverment regeneration housing development , although the BBC silver building is being vacated
Football played the Charlie Ferris way
