Well Phil Beard has previous with o2. Knows how a multi use venue works.

One of the main reasons TF brought him in. In the masterplan

Phil Beard has already said a new stadium will need to be multi-purpose, and as has been said above, would be more central than Wembley Arena and the O2. Also, Earl's Court is due for demolition so the new stadium will pick up events from that arena.

I can't think of a single venue in west London that is a state of the art multi purpose venue. The potential is massive, and the guys on the board are ambitious people. Phil Beard helped turn the millenium dome into the 02 Arena, which is now the world's busiest music venue. He was also part of the successful London 2012 bid which shows he knows exactly what he's doing. I can't see money being a problem either what with Lakshmi Mittal on board and the contacts our guys have.

If we build the right sort of arena, it will become famous throughout the world and will put our club firmly on the global map. This is why I don't think we should be thinking in terms of a 25k stadium, but closer to 40k and beyond. As TF has said, we are located in the best part of the world's most exciting city. Just imagine a 40k multi purpose stadium with a detractable roof hosting a whole range of events such as concerts, boxing, and of course football! The 02 accomodates 20k, the Emirates 60k, ours would fit in the middle at 40k and would be the only venue of its type in west London.

      Time to think big, guys.

If I'm looking at it correctly the site is nigh on double Loftus rd.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

            Here's a quote from TF:

The key question for Fernandes is deciding on the capacity of the new stadium.

"Some fans are saying 'We don't have a fan base bigger than 20,000'," said Fernandes.
"My gut feel is 40-45,000. That's double where we are right now, but we're in London and there's a strong catchment area.

Is that cos of all the cream cakes and kebabs you keep eating Matty? The fats clogged you boner glands.

Unfortunately after reading the other messageboard I reckon this is about as likely as my Flamini post yesterday.

                    You know it mate.

Makes all those cold days at Chesterfield away, defeats to Vauxhall motors etc all worth while. Unreal looking back 10 years and what we've been through and where we are now.

Wouldnt swap it for any other club

Load of ********, land too expensive It would wipe out Fernandes unless Mittal really dug deep.

Obviously then we have the predictable shall we build a 30-40k stadium, should it look like boavistas ground etc .... You people sound like a broken record.
I met a fella about 9 months back claimed to be close friend of P Baird ,I said to the fella that tony's wealth est 300 mil wasn't much in terms of running a football club he replied that there was some serious finnancial backing at the club apart from Mittal .
On the other point of not being able to fill 40k stadium not too long before Abramo bought the Gobsh/tes they were often playing in front of low gates

I'm led to believe Tony is the front man of a consortium which consists of some serious dough.

It's often said in business that the most important aspect is location, location, location. Can you think of a better location than west London?

These guys have bought a small, but potentially big, football club in west London. It's close to Europe's second biggest shopping complex, it's close to the west end, it has a direct tube link to Eurostar, and it's close to Heathrow. It also has several tube stations and bus links in the area so public transport isn't an issue.

We've come through probably our worst era as a football club. When we got promoted back to the EPL we weren't fit for purpose as a modern 21st century top-flight football club. Look what's happened in less than a year of TF buying the club. We've got a new board, money to buy good players, a new training ground and youth academy being built, and we're looking for a new stadium. On our journey last season we beat the likes of Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal. I have to pinch myself sometimes and wonder if this is really happening to us.

So, to all the traditionalists who wish to stay at LR, while I fully respect your opinions, we need a new home, a large home, and we should be aiming to become one of the most feared clubs in English football. From there, why not aim to become one of the most feared clubs in Europe? If Chelsea can do it, why not us?

I for one am loving every minute of the revolution taking place at our club.

I think our potential in the Far East is enormous.

With TF airline connections cheap flights etc ,in the future may see packages for fans to come for matches which would boost the gates big time.

My cousin who used to rangers late sixties with me has lived in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur last thirty years or so.

He is telling me rs are becoming the word on the street and are certainly making and impression out there.
