Feel abit for the man tbh after the amount he put into our winning bid. Admittedly, not the greatest player these days, but the Olympics is hardly the pinnacle of world football quality is it. Should certainly have been in the squad IMO.You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

We need to stop treating the Olympics football tournament as a gimmick and try to use it to benefit the national game.
It's a one off for GB, fine, but given it will predominantly be young as yet not top players, it could prove to be an opportunity for some to get invaluable experience of tournament football, which could serve them well if they play in future tournaments, most likely for England.

Regardless of your views on his abilities, he deserved a place in the squad, he'd earned it tbf.Last edited by DeepcutHoop; 28-06-2012, 03:07 PM.

He deserves a place for two reasons IMHO. The first, he is a useful player to have in the squad as he can still play a bit, and always gives 100%. The second, after all the work he put in to help get the games, it would have been a nice thank you for him.
This is hardly the world cup and I think he could still do a job.Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
