Great programme tonight about Notting Hill.........

A lot of Rangers fans with a connection to the area. A lot for the old boys talked about growing up there. Teddy Boy days and rows with other local areas like Paddington.

It is one part of West London that has changed so much relatively quickly and it's on our door step.

Definitely worth watching.

an interesting series this..how areas change but somehow retain something....most yuppie areas today were once working class "slums", where landlords let them fall apart.
now a developer moved in and tarted them up, they are what they always were, nice homes..
this show, reflected on the homes worth £2-3m up to £7m down the road to council homes, worth £340k.
how annoying was the couple, with the maid,the "bird" wouldn't shut up....48 persons in one home, a family per room!!

seems the new influx are russian billionaires

had to laugh when they said"they are lower than working class-they are the criminal class". moved all those locals futher north into the big estates in north ken. good look at history from where i was brought up. fella on facebook has thousands of photo's of all the streets/pubs from 1900-to the present. can put names to all the families etc. has some blinding pic's from a time gone by.

Really enjoyed the programme. I was brought up in Notting wood House in the 1960s , and just checked my family tree and discovered that my Nan was born in 108 Portland Road in 1894. Her Husbands dads address when they were married in 1895 was 20 Portland Road. They were big QPR fans in the 1920s and my nan used to knit us QPR scarves in the 1960s. How I wish I still had one now
