not to start the whole debate again (well, ok, maybe, just a bit) but i don't really agree with Barton being stripped of the captaincy. He's the only leader we've got out there. on a good game, and let's be honest he had a number of those (liverpool Home was the worst ever, and he's admitted it) he is dominating the middle and orchistrating the game pace.
he did something stupid at city - and has been fined and banned. we all knew he had a temper - is it any surprise he did something "naughty" whilst in a rangers shirt? we all knew this when we signed him yet were happy to give him the armband.
imo he's the leader, he's able to tell our players to get up/get on with it/mark tighter/go up/track back on a field and people will listen. That's what a captain is.
