Sorry I watch Greece quite a lot and they are a terrible team and way worse than England.

England to do what Germany did?

Didn't we have this debate in 2010?
the main problem England have is the system most teams play in England. If all teams tried to play a patent passing game like Swansea and Arsenal and this was adapted by the national sides, then yes, England would improve, But this is unlikely to happen and England will continue to be out passed and often outplayed, especially against the better sides. Whilst possesion isn't everything, itis important when it comes to not tiring too quickly. Last night Italy tired England out because they had the English players chasing shadows for most of the game.
Quite frankly, whilst not bad, England is not a very good side. Probably a 9th-20th best side in the World behind the likes of
Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Germany, Holland, Italy, France, Portugal and on par with teams like Czech Republic, Greece, Ivory Coast, Ghana, USA & Mexico.
Also there are many other teams that can keep possession better than England, but don't have an end product to beat them

This massive debate rears its ugly head after every failure ," root and branch" we need to change our system bla bla bla
on talk shite today they were banging on about how we didnt lose a game in 90 minutes ffs , no we lost on penalties they still count , that team let the country down IMO with a gutless display
The only thing "world class" about that squad is their wages , they should be nicked by the fraud squad for impersonating footballers !!!!!

Enlish football needs a lot more than copying the German model. I have an 8 year old andalthough I I don't blame the coaches - the way they are taught is a utterly dreadful in his football team. If I had the time I would do it, but I don't so I would never name the club or the area as they are putting their time in, but they are being taught to be useless. They are taught nothing about skill or control, they are taught everything wrong - that is a fact, I have watched tournements and different clubs for a year and a half and the people coaching these kids are utterly clueless.

I think the main problem is that the national team do not play together frequently enough and when they do they are expected to play every three or four days.
The Premiership teams play together all season and are used to each other. I think that some of our premiership teams could possibly beat the best national teams.

The problem is we have no movement, few players make themselves available, so we have limited options. We are too rigid and we play a system that is out dated. On top of that we have some decent players, but we seem to forget that other countries have better ones.
I got so annoyed with the fact that we kept passing the ball back to Hart when we didn't need to - just for him to boot to the opposition. The only other team that played like that were Ireland. It is caveman football.

Problem with England is we are no good in possession, we are too keen to get the ball up top as quick as possible. We have no patience, and when teams press us we 5h1t our pants! If we had nice composed build up play with short and Simple passing and PLENTY of off the ball movement we would give anyone a game. Needs to be Instilled from tots football onwards, none of this "if in doubt give it a clout" rollocks, keep the ball, play the "pointless" 3 yard pass rather than the 40yard glory ball. Swansea are horrible to watch but if we adapted sort of the same style we could beat anyone on the planet, instead of lumping the ball up top to Rooney, welbeck or Carroll, and completely bypassing the midfield. Have to say though I would keep Terry and Gerrard, I think both were by far our best players. R

What we have to ask ourselves is this, do we want to watch QPR playing the spain way week in week out? It's the same with all prem teams. The style of play in the prem is exciting to watch, it's what the fans want.
The only team playing the spain style is swansea and most of us think that is boring.I tried years ago getting into the italian football that was on ch4 and i found it devoid of excitement it was more like a game of chess.
The german style is imo very watchable.

Sorry - Swansea DO NOT play anything like Spain. Swansea pass the ball around in their own half a lot. Spain pass the ball around in the opponents half a lot. I understand where you are coming from, but Sawansea at LR this year was NOTHING like watching Spain play.
