  • Joey Barton!!!!!!

So............how reliable is the Express, when it comes to stories about QPR??

JOEY BARTON looks set to be thrown an amazing lifeline right out of the Last Chance Saloon.

I think we will know imminently after hearing Ian Taylor on London calling the other night. Don't know how accurate this report is.

Was always gonna be the outcome once it was reported QPR didn't have a leg to stand on legally.

Morally right or wrong no club is going to let a player walk away with £11m. End of.

I think he will be banned from Twitter & although things keep being banded about last chance saloon (how many now) I feel the club will have to make it clear 110% anything else & he will be sacked. Not sure where that stands with regards to his contract but the club also have a responsibility to protect themselves.

I hope this is true, I really rate Joey. He's got undoubted talent & sacking him for 11million would of been so stupid. At very least have him on the bench
            Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
            And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

The whole situation is ridiculous, his behaviour and the images of it could have damaged commercial investment into the club, not to mention tweeting the guff that he does. Joey had a poor season and he deserves pelters for his behaviour.

Like we should have been surprised though. As if he was ever going to be anything but a pain in the ####.

If the article is accurate, it really doesn't sound like he's "being given one last chance" more like he's got us over a barrel, and there's bugger all we can do about it.

Being in a position where he know his bosses were desperate to get rid of him but couldn't, is potentially going to make him feel bulletproof.

Agree, with Ric. He has to be banned from twitter, and that means the whole squad will be.

I bumped onto Pardew at the Derby and asked him about Barton, he said Joey is a far better player than people give him credit for, but that he can be a real pain in the ####! Also said there was no way any club could sack a player for getting sent off. I've always supported Barton but really hope that he realises how lucky he is and finally knuckles down and concentrates on his football or he'll be another player that never realised his potential.

Are they in the squad mate????

Unless the club decides to step aside from twitter totally to form a non-twitter policy and entirely use it for official club news. I wouldn't want that though.

I think your right at the this stage we wont have enough to dismiss JB but what the club with their employment lawyers will use this situation to give him a final warning, make it crystal clear how he is expected to behave to club standards and if he miss behaves again breaking these rules he will be dismissed.

Using this method they will be in a stronger postion to dismiss him without pay next time, but i do not expect a big condement / PR release (just a small statement) as doing this could be counter productive if later on JB does do something stupid that they may wish to use (e.g. JB can use this to say the jury was al ready decided and this was constructive dismissel).

As for twitter they will only be able to limit him from comments that could lead to a FA disreput charge or anything on QPR or comments that could damage QPR's reputation as these should be added into the players contract, any other comments i am afraid is free of speach so i would not expect a twitter ban.

Does that mean TF, Amit and Phil Beard should come off Twitter too? I don't believe in curtailing free speech, but I would suggest that Joey thinks a bit more before he tweets.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
