He made 16 league apps for them last year, and it was probably Villas worst season for years. A bit of sarcasm from the fans I reckon.

But I would like to see him here tho.

Probably? You think. Villa were abject as well as Stephen Ireland's performances. The last thing we want is Stephen Ireland, the lad is far too inconsistent, rarely delivers and hasn't looked motivated in years to perform.

My bad, it should be; it was Villas worst season for years.

I guess we have a different view on him then, I am not saying that he should be a regular for us, but a squad player.

If we offered him a deal I bet it would have been a year only and as a squad player, Blackburn he has a two year deal, 1st team football and i bet a coaching role that he will want to develop and at his ages thats a good deal.

Would have been a good squad player as at times we need someone like him to control games, but I am sure there are others out there that we will be intrested in and hoefuly just as good
One for all.... and all for one

Close family members are Villa fans & said he was the only bright light last seson.

Darren Bent said publically this week Ireland is the best player at the club.

            All about opinions.

This talk of Stephen Ireland having a good season is laughable nonsense. He had 60 good minutes against Chelsea. More often than not he was wasteful in possession and really quite clueless and it wasn't just him, N'Zogbia suffered from the same problem. The long ball tactics certainly didn't help. I'm sure all of us here remember the 1-1 draw at Loftus Road, Villa were absolutely shocking.

I don't want him at QPR. He's not better than what we have already.

In the coming weeks, Stephen Ireland may leave Aston Villa. 7500 to Holte reviews his highs and lows with the club.

Considering how abysmal Villa were and even by the Villa fans admissions of how inconsistent Ireland is, replacing an inconsistent midfielder for another inconsistent midfielder makes no sense whatsoever.

Faurlin and Samba and one other is the best option for the midfield three.

What is with you and this vendetta against Ireland? Why cant you just agree to disagree without a finicky comment? For the record, if you want facts, the fact is that he got POTY for Villa last year and a majority of their fans (and their main striker) think he is the best player they have. Facts.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

If we're signing another midfielder, it is to strengthen our squad, we are not signing a regular mate. Who would you want as a squad player other than Ireland then? Share your views please...

I hardly think an arbitrary award such as POTY proves anything old bean. No doubt a lot of the Ireland loving here is probably based on what he used to do for Mark Hughes at City.

Like I said before I just don't want him at Loftus Road, I've seen the lad play and he's certainly no improvement on what we already have.

Considering the ambition of Fernandes, Hughes signings suggest otherwise - but players like Nelsen and Johnson are at least decent professionals. Stephen Ireland is a lesser Joey Barton. If he was to sign he'd be as destructive influence in the dressing room as Barton is. It's one thing for a player to have attitude and swagger if he can back it up on the pitch, you can't really apply that to either Ireland and Barton.

                            Vendetta? Common sense.

For the record, I actually would have liked Danny Murphy. Decent professional.

Were we ever serious about Murphy, and do we really have an interest in Ireland? Probably agents or paper talk.

I think Faurlin and Diakite will be our first choice pairing in centre midfield, and we've also probably got Barton coming back in November, but with only Derry available, I believe we need another good midfielder. Remember, Faurlin was out a long time and we don't know if he can be as good as he was, and Diakite supposedly had a virus, and we don't know the long term effects of that.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
