  • QPR 10 Years ago

With so much good news happening at the moment, i can't help but think back to the times when things were so so different.Relegation to div 3, Rodney Marsh saying in a newspaper that we could easily be in the conference in a couple of years, no team, truly awful times. We have so much to thank Tony, and the Mittals, and other investors for, but also Ian Holloway, for keeping this club going and believing, we could come back.We have to thank Giaani Palidini for his part in doing the same, and for getting Flav and Bernie involved, and we have to be thankful they did, or we could have gone back into admin.
More recently Neil Warnock for coming in and saving us from relegation back to the 3rd tier initially, but then taking us back to the premier league as Champions of the championship. I sit here today absolutely buzzing in regards to what's going on at QPR, i can't quite believe it, new state of the art training ground, talk of a new stadium, Mike Rigg setting up a huge scouting system, rumours of top players coming to us, this could turn out to be the greatest period ever in QPR's history, enjoy it!!!

I thought some of us might like to look back, 10 years, to what was happening at our club, i've put up a couple of random results from that time and some other stuff.

With all these changes taking place such as a new scouting system, better investment in the first team squad, the academy and training ground, and the overseas promotion of our club, does anyone still believe the end product will be delivered at LR?

Can't see it myself, but I'm sure there are some who still think a new stadium shouldn't happen. It's coming and we should welcome this with open arms. The guys running our club mean business and I for one am buzzing with the changes and what lies ahead.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I think it has to happen and will, Tony is doing a full refurb of our club that could not have been dreamed of.Even the writers of the sky 1 Dream Team would've said this was too far fetched!!
