Young kept his place because Rooney played. Roy likes club link ups.

To my eye, the best performance so far was against France, and that wasn't really 4-4-2, it was more like 4-4-1-1 with a link man behind the striker. The set up will dictate who plays but Rooney, Milner and Young all look out of sorts at the moment.

England are like Rs, without pace things get tricky, but Walcott and AOC both have speed. We don't have that luxury, which is why I worry about 4-4-2 with Zamora up top alongside Cisse. 4-4-2 = need for speed.

I am not a Milner fan, but I know why Roy picks him - because he is defensive. And to be fair to Roy, we may have had a bit of luck, but the team are pretty well organised and hard to break down and that, in part, is becuase Milner fits that role.

Young has been a good player for England, but I don't think he is being allowed to express himself that much and has fluffed his lines a bit. I expect he will be dropped for the Italy game.

I like the fact that Roy changes things for the team he is playing, even if we won our last game.

I think Carol will start v Italy with Welbeck dropped and I think that is the right way to go. I would not be suprised if Young goes too....Milner will start though.

Exactly, at last we have someone at the helm with a Plan B. No one should ever think they start automatically, that has been the case far too often in the past. It must be said than in an England shirt Rooney has not been worth his place for a long time. I'd prefer to see us start with Carrol up top with some pace behind him.

Rooney is vaunted as a world beater. I've never been convinced by him at international level. His performance against Ukraine was never in the the region of a bad Messi, Maradona, Pele, Zidane, Cruyff, Puskas performance. It was s hit.

Yes - I think the English media went way over the top with Rooney being the best player in the world a few years back. Realisation has crept in now. However, he is a match winner. I would like to see him and Carol against the Italians.

We have not had a World Class talent since Gazza and it is such a shame that we only saw him at his best for a very few short years. He was mesmerising at Italia 90.

Winds me up when media pundits say we have a squad full of world class players and should be winning tournaments. We have not a single player that would get in a World 11 IMHO, but I will still support them all the way.

Dunno if anyone has mentioned it yet but we really need to wind up Balotelli to get him sent off, wouldn't take much IMO

That would be great. He is such a sulker for someone so damn lucky in life.

My predictions for the match (lump on, you'll make a mint!!)

                0-0 after 90 minutes
1-1 after extra time (Italy score first, we equalise)
                England win 4-3 on penalties!!!!!

Really nasty taunting is required...I mean personal stuff. Terry is the right man to instigate that methinks being the horrible **** that he is

he will be keen to impress, so will be trying hard - that could go either way for us. I would love to see him sent off and have a tantrum.

Looking forward to the game and my winnings.

I forecast that most of the games would be crappy and I think I've been proved right. Boring games with quite a few un-normal goals.
