The groups in the Euros are a lot harder than the World Cup and we made them look under control with our organisation. France haven't lost for 22 games until tonight - they must be awful. The Premier League was utterly poor this year - we still barely survived - not sure what you are talking about, the group was not very, very poor.

This is why the Englan manager's job is thankless.

Going into this tournament, no-one was confident of getting through the group, let alone winning it.

Now we've done that, people are still not happy about the way we did it. Good grief.

It reminds me of watching QPR over the years, the crowd moan like fury when we just lump it forward, yet the second we pass the ball sideways more than once you start to hear the rumbles of "get it forward, stop p***ing about with it ffs"

Whatever happens, Roy has got my backing for the next WC. He's come in with zero preparation time, an average squad, low expectations (and when those expectations are beaten, people still complain) and won 4 drawn 1 in a month. He's a phucking genius in my book.

So what if it's ugly. You use what you've got. We don't have Iniestas and Silvas and Fabregases. We have Parkers and Milners and Johnsons. England may be Blue Square, you support them for their effort and commitment. This is the first tournament for years where we really are trying and have a plan and getting some luck.
