if its about adding depth to the squad and his wages are nothing like he was getting at Fulham then its a decent signing........If Hughes plans to use him as first or second choice striker then i think he's not so good a signing.

Got plenty of experience in the squad already. We dont need to sign a 'striker' who gets less goals a season than Joey Barton on stupid wages for what he is. Fulham hardly made great efforts to keep him...begs the question Why?

All about opinions I guess & respect yours.
Personally think its a very good squad signing & I trust a very experienced manager not to mention a top ex striker to bring I'm what he thinks will help our squad.
Everyone knows our front 2 will be Cisse & BZ so can't see the issue with bringing in a better replaecement for the other strikers on the bench.
Im happy to have him. Strike rate of 1 in 3 is pretty good in anyones book. I'll back him as i do every player. Never booed one of our lads yet and never will.
Think he's a useless player......out of wonder how many goals did he score last year?
Don't forget Southampton have just splashed 7M on one player......think we need to set our heights a bit higher than Andrew Johnson if we are to compete. I have no doubt we will spend some cash though.
Don't get me wrong, they're not bad signings per se, and I certainly don't think he's useless, but I'm just not stirred by the signings. Johnson's a better option than Bothroyd, and possibly DJ, but not by much.
