  • Shaun Wright Phillip's game against Arsenal (away)

    ... but it should have.

Shaun Wright Phillips, despite all the slating he received off pretty much everyone on this board last season, will be like a new signing next year
I'm sure of it... Last season in his first few games he was brilliant he just didn't score, fans started getting on his back and his confidence went completely and you could clearly see that.

I still think he'll be a great player for QPR

Shaun Wright Phillip's game against Arsenal (away)

Has anyone rewatched Arsenal vs QPR away on QPRPlayer or remember the game? Shaun Wright Phillips was motm by a mile, really was fantastic and he showed QPR exactly what he's about when he plays with confidence.

It's a real shame the boo boys turned on him.

was he? my main memory of him from that game was his back pass. must admit i cant quite make my mind up about him. he clearly has ability but there is very little end product. the chelsea chant of "shaun wright phillips - we've seen it before" had the ring of truth, sadly. My frustration with him is that he has never got any better. he still can't basically bring a ball under control, which is frustrating for someone with 36 england caps. fear he is destined to be one of those players who never fulfils their obvious potential. wd love him to succeed but have my doubts he will.

I will admit I do think Armand Traore is alot better. But I still think S-W-P's game was done poor because of the negative fans. Some players will overcome it, some players will not play as well

Agree he was good. He was also very good against newcastle at home and man city away. Unfortunately didn't live up to the hype but I hope he gets another shot. Hell have a hard time getting ahead of mackie though.

Can't get any worse than last season.

Still think he's got enough in his locker to be a threat for us. Hope Sparky sticks with him.

Even when making a plea in favour of SWP, he cost us the game cited due to a horrible error. Couldn't make it up. Can't get any worse I suppose.

Will be a big player for QPR next season. He got the most assists last season. Just off the top of my head he set up Zamora v Wolves and Cisse v Bolton and Man City.

Hughes will not play the system he played last year at home/away with one up front and let the other team have the ball. Will be a 4-4-2 with Cisse/Zamora up top. They will need quality service and chances provided which SWP can give. Think he will play over Mackie who will be used as an Impact sub up top.
