For me, it's not just about the football team, but it's about my roots. I was born in St Andrews Hospital in Dollis Hill and grew up in Queens Park. Used to play football in the park as a kid and went to school round there. My first game at LR was the last home game of the season against Fulham when we got promoted. Off the top of my head it was 1972. After that the family moved to Stonebridge Park. I'm now living in Hertfordshire but I often find myself visiting Queens Park for a wander round. I've no idea why i do but it's like going home.
See, QPR is not just a football club to me, it's part of my roots and part of who I am. It's in my blood. Just the other week I found myself at Queens Park tube, had a wander up Kilburn Lane, then crossed the road and had a bite to eat in Sainsburys.
I was home.
Bit sentimental, bit sloppy, but just thought I'd share my feelings about our club and what it means to me, which is a damn sight more than being one of the cockney reds mob!
