I've no doubt he has positives, I was just hoping for slightly more inspiring signings than a 34 year old injury prone centre back. He's an improvement on Hall/Gabbidon yes, but is he enough of an improvement?

Clint Hill did well, but we already have him, did we need another?

I really hope he turns out to be brilliant btw, but it is a short term signing, I'd like to see some youngsters brought in for the future as back up. Who knows, we may still see that happen.

And no that doesn't mean I expect us to make signing's like rickyranger suggests above. Why does everything have to be so black and white?

Window opens soon, these are the freebies we're picking up, think we will see a couple of big hitters join in july, our main objective this season is staying up again, just hopefully a little more comfortably.

New Zealand defender Ryan Nelsen has moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Queens Park Rangers on a free transfer.

Last season, Nelsen made 4 starts and had a further 5 appearances as a substitute for Spurs. He was also an unused sub in 9 more matches.

His only goal for Spurs came against Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup.

I've been one of the fans on here saying we need younger players
But nelsons a good defender and a great backup.
its only a 1 year deal also so it's sensible by the club.
He's better than Ferdinand so good news IMO

                Moaning about Nelson WHY???

Really don't get people on this site, no 1 we should give Hughes and his team a bit of credit that they know what they are doing and secondly we need cover and leaders in the team.

Also think allot of people on here are deluded, If Nelson he is good enough to play for Spurs he certainly is good enough for us, he is a captain, a leader a decent bloke by all accounts and loved playing for Hughes.

When Man City signed Viera (who has hardly played) they added to their squad a great character, a leader and someone like Nelsen is going to be important in the dressing room more so dare i say than the approach Barton took to being captain.

The same people who slagged of Derry and Hill are now moaning again, get behind the team and manager its going to be an exciting season ahead and we are lucky to have the manager and owners at the club.

As far as I can see, there's more people moaning about the people moaning about Nelson, than people moaning about Nelson.

It definitely needed a new thread though. Well done.
