  • Could signing Ryan Nelsen help QPR's brand?

Ryan Nelsen is the New Zealand captain & when looking on a few websites, forums & twitter some people from New Zealand have said about his move to QPR, that they will look out for him & will start watching the Hoops. Bear in mind he's a squad player, it will get QPR known a bit more in New Zealand & help increase the QPR global brand.

Just another theory for you to think about
    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I think the club will sign capable players for the 25 rather than players to build a 'brand'. It's no good having players who can sell the 'brand' worldwide but can't do the business on the pitch.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

But why can't we do both? Nelsen fits that category imo

It's ok if the player signed is a recognised talent in their country. The fact he is a big name player in his country is a good by-product, but the needs of the squad should always come first. Nelson probably does fit into that category, but his signing was based based purely on footballing reasons would be my guess.
