Generally like the Irish but after witnessing some shockingly xenophobic behaviour towards the English from both Irish rugby and football fans I'll never support them at a major tournament. Croatia all the way for me....

I'm indifferent to the Irish, Ireland is just another foreign country in my book. Gets a tad annoying when British TV stations keep bringing up Ireland in sports events, like it's still part of the union. It's not.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Being based in Wales you get used to snide xenophobic remarks. Used to wear my England rugby shirt to the pub when England were playing but after being called an English c**t by numerous celts I soon gave that up. Not saying all celts are like that but let's just say my eyes were opened when I moved here, can get really nasty sometimes. Will never support any celtic nation in any sporting event ever....in fact quite the reverse

why do the Irish think green is great with their ruddy skin complextions should be a more pressing question.

Not too sure that to give a label to any particular nation, based upon either personal experiences or hearsay, is either very fair or very clever. And insults are insults, be it in relation to nationality, colour or sexual preferences and as such are not really what we want to see on here.

In fairness to the OP, I doubt very much that the term 'Paddy' was meant as an insult, but surely, upon finding that it wasn't appreciated by another member, it would have been better to simply say something like- "sorry mate, no offence intended" and move on, rather than add fuel to the fire.

Still, I suppose that option is still there should he be gracious enough to try it.

Thread can and will be locked if this rubbish continues.

Not seeing the point of this thread. Ireland has hooligans. What's next, a thread pointing out they have ****ing criminals too haha? Jesus wept. It's more noteworthy to point out countries that don't.

Also, hahahahaha that ball was a bit of a hot potato :XD:
