the majority of rangers fans I encounter hardly any go on a regular basis, some, years have lapsed since they last went. There could be many reasons for this, but without a shadow of doubt cost is a major factor. One remedy for this has to be a bigger, more comfortable stadium where we can offer package deals to entice back the thousands of r's who have got out of the habit of attending games.I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

What you have to remember is we are west london and in a very sort after catchment area. Now we are in the Premiership all the surrounding locals will come to QPR -even if its just to see the football like our Polish friends.
We are a growing football club that will only get bigger, but to build a club you need facilities which we haven't got at Loftus Road, it is a terrible stadium.
We are in a prime position mate, trust me.
Forget the old QPR lot from the 90s, we have to move forward and create a new fan base which we are doing :-)

I am currently working on the construction of additional seating at Brighton's Amex stadium, it is one hell of a ground (even at the moment) and upon completion, is something like i would love to see us playing in, it has been created for atmosphere and the closeness to the pitch gives it a good feel too. So who knows?Queens Park RangersNPower Champions 2010/2011
PREMIER LEAGUE 2011 - ETERNITY (Oh well got that wrong, we'll be back though)

I know posters are going on about the lost fans but do we actually have any lost fans or is it that we simply have a small fan base. This year only a handful of games sold out and on the whole our attendance was similar to our last golden period of the early 90s. Just think some look our support with Rose tinted glasses as if we are some sleeping giant. I know loads of people who have a close affinity and fondness to the R'sss but don't go, you can say it's price, poor visibility, parking etc but alot of people have other priorities. QPR always has a core home of about 10k to 12k mainly s/t holders and I just think over the last 15 Years prices and great seats have always been competitive but fans haven't flooded in.
Not sure a new stadium will attract thousands of new fans, firstly prices IMHO will go up and not down, as multiplex cinema and a few weddings isn't going to pay for the build, in nearly all new stadiums I know of such as emirates and Cardiff the prices have gone up. We will pay for the new stadium.
Also fans that have lapsed had opportunities to return this year but on the whole tickets were nearly always available, the club had to Market hard to shift tickets. Even a 10 to 15% reduction in prices in tickets IMHO won't drastically change the size of our fan base. In any event premiership stability, top players, new stadium isn't conducive to a reduction in price for a club like ours, it will be increase in prices if we move or at best a freeze.
For a move to be a success I think a club needs big waiting lists etc and almost outgrown their current stadium, just think we haven't reached thatvtipping point yet.
Just think building a stadium in the hope that some how miraculously fans will come is far too risky as I see no evidence to date that they will come.Last edited by TBLOCKRANGER; 08-06-2012, 09:14 PM.

One of the biggest reasons lots of our fans don't go is the purchasing of tickets. Its not like the old days where you just turn up at the door and pay to get in.
Lots of old QPR buddies I know just cannot be @sed to go on line or register as a member cos they just don't understand all that cobblers same as going to the box office for tickets. A bigger ground would maybe solve that problem.

To be fair...unless you're Warwick Davis...Loftus road is the most cramped ground in the top tier.
The earlier mention of the Amex in Brighton is a fantastic example of the way forward....22500k capacity to start and plenty of scope to add seating as interest grows. Our 'core' support....or 'the old QPR lot' as described earlier....will always mean a cracking atmosphere.....
