we played 2 non-league teams, a Slovenian team, a Croatian team and a League 1 team and scored 10 goals....

averaging 2 goals a game against crap opposition doesnt inspire confidence for the season ahead

Pete I love the way you stick up for our side no matter what. I love that you are so positive about our side but what you have to remember is it doesn't matter who does or doesn't score for opposing teams. It only matters that we do.

I am one of the most optimistic supporters of our team and had hoped that we would see attacking football this season. I did see that yesterday, but I also saw our forwards not score from about 8 glorious chances when Blackpool had 2 and scored from 1. It could be too early to say it is the same as last season but we only have a couple of weeks to do something about it. Unfortunately the Blackpool game could easily have been from the end of last season and at the end of last season we failed to get in the play offs.

I'm simply saying that we have enough quaity in the team to see in the next 5-6 games to see if scoring goals is going to be a problem.

We created in the game, which is the main thing another day Helgusson scores we win 3-0 and you would still be asking for a striker. FFS, Helguson record is good in front of goal and someone like him will; come good. Why, would anyone spend 2-3 million on a striker to (and because he is name)?? When you cannot guarantee he will score 20 goals.

Tarrabt has already said his target is 15 goals, for someone you say cannot score, well he created quite alot yesterday. I say give him a little time and at least see where we are end of AUGUST. It was his first game up front

i want to know why we had most of the possesion but still didn't convert it into goals. why every time we got near the box we lost it.

blackpool had one chance and they took it. it took a great effort from ramage to bring us level with BLACKPOOL. what will happen when we play .the better teams in this division. they will walk all over us

taarabt is clearly not a striker he does not have the ability to be one. helguson is useless. vine is not a goalscorer and ageymang has a phobia of shooting.

we can create all we want but there is no one there to finish chances. that was quite clear from yesterdays game. we have known this for ages.

why wait for six games. we waited a whole season. why shell out money (whatever they paid) for the argie when the midfield is the last thing we need to add to. that money should have been used for a striker. if you don't gamble you won't go up. if the board don't want to go up they should put us out of our misery and just tell us. nodge said on another thread about morrison. the owners wanted parejo and di carmine over him last season. why are they making these desicions? now i simply cant believe that the argie is a JM signing. the board are very much in control of first team affairs. until they let the manager manage then we will keep going round in circles

Paul, I'm giving an opionion, I actually think GP thinks we need a striker and suspect we will get one in. Just because, I have an opinion don't play the same card each time, that I am being spoon fed.
