after the Panorama programme the FA had every right to voice their concerns..it wasnt about taking the moral high ground. They have a duty of care for the fans..after seeing Asian fans of Metalist being beaten to a pulp by their own fans, while the local police turned a blind eye,i would suggest that it is not safe for our black/asian fans to travel.
As Silvercue stated,i wonder how concerned we would have been if it wasn't a Chelsea and QPR player involved in that case?

Yes it is. Go check the legislation around racism. It is exactly the same as calling someone a black c*** in the eyes of the law. Hence my point about hypocracy. By the way being ignorant of laws doesn't help in court. People thought comments about blacks just as harmless 20 years ago, now you have to be careful. Also, is calling someone a name really as bad as assualting people? Not on my planet.

i don't care about the law if calling someone a black c@nt is classed the same as calling somebody a sheep- sh agger because they are not the same imo. and anybody who thinks so are mental.

I'd like to see this legislation, I have never heard of this. Racism is persecution against a race, there is no countryism thank ****.

A bit of banter is a good thing, it sharpens your wits. Crying to mummy and daddy about someone calling you a name just starts a trend of behaviour that never ends. Next thing you're running to them for hand outs. Of course, some run to the government for all that instead..

I won't stop supporting England or QPR just because they have idiots playing for them. I would have to stop supporting them both at the moment if I did.

the term "racial discrimination" shall mean any distinction, exclusion, restriction, or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin that has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life.[19]n British law the phrase racial group means "any group of people who are defined by reference to their race, colour, nationality (including citizenship) or ethnic or national origin

the key words here are "national, and "nationality"

I think you'll find the key words being nullifying or impairing the person's rights.

Please explain how calling someone a sheep shagger is doing such? It's a fairly generic term, and isn't actually used to stereotype one particular race of people. You could be from Norfolk, Scotland or even Greece and be called a sheep shagger.

It takes two people to make an insult, someone to make the insult and the other to take it as such.

You'll find, the actual racists you need to worry about won't actually out themselves and are smart enough to keep their agendas to themselves. Thus being able to do pretty much what they want unchecked. Whereas people who jokingly use terms are targeted by misguided but deluded individuals thinking they are doing a public service.

Incorrect, the reference was sheep shaggers. No Welsh before it.

No, I'm saying that if you're on a crusade to stamp out racism, there's better places to start than chastising people for their use of words to wind up rival fans.

I think the main point of the OP is being completed missed here.

As it stands it's irrelevant whether he's found guilty or not at this stage, what is clearly obvious is they don't want Both JT and Rio in the squad due to potential unrest and the pending legal hearing. As a result one had to go and the FA have backed JT at Rio's expense. No he's not been found guilty yet, and is technically inocent, but everyone has seen exactly what he said, and as it's his csae pending, it should've been him to miss out, not Rio.

Also as for SAF told Roy not to pick them so he hasn't, do me a favour. You honestly think Roy is that pathetic and weak, and would rather fail miserably than upset a club manager. You say this, but then suggest he isn't being told by the FA who he can or can't pick..... what's more realistic?

Anyway, Carrick ruled himself out by saying he didn't want to be a squad option, nothing to do with SAF. SAF make a comment about Rio playing 3 games in 8 days, but that is irrelevant. If he's not a 1st choice player for England he will never play 3 games in 8 days, but i sure know who i'd rather have to come off the bench if needed and it certainly would'nt be Kelly, who's not even a CB by trade, but can simply play there.
