So I guess the tiny slither of hope of WHU buying him has now gone.

Regardless of whether it was his fault or not he's involved in another incident that drags the name of the club down.

For the record in the poll I voted to keep him and back him & funnily enough still do but wouldn't lose any sleep should they sack him.

      I don't think it's funny, if he's just been assaulted outside a nightclub, it's disgusting if that's what's happened.
Disgusted he was there i take it??

You made the point that England players were in the dentist chair etc and were a v talented bunch of players who might well have won Euro 96 or whatever the tournament was. I was agreeing with you - and saying that if the likes of gaza had looked after himself rather than getting into the kind of incidents that barton apparently did last night he might now be remembered as a cruyf or a platini who really used his brilliance, gift, whatever you want to call it to win trophies by also proving himself to be a model professional. Instead he is a sad, washed up ex alcoholic who is almost certainly barking mad. I assume you are not suggesting that as an example Joey Barton should follow.

LETS end this post by saying JB is bigger than the Club,he can do what he wants on and off the pitch,he can drag our clubs great reputation though the sh*t for as long as it suits him and decides he wants to play somewhere else. Long live Joey Barton - Pride of QPR..... Tw*ts

Err, I'm absolutely disgusted by this thread to be perfectly honest.

Joey got attacked outside a nightclub, and didn't retaliate from some Sky sources. Yet people on here are quick to condemn the guy without bothering to find out the facts.

I've been critical of Barton, I don't want him to disgrace the club. But I've also said he's got a giant target on his back, and now a QPR player has been attacked in public and our own fans are bashing him.

Maybe Barton should have kept a low profile, but he went out to let off some steam. Let's not forget he could be getting fired this week.

I wonder what the hand wringers would have said if it was Adel assaulted/attacked at 5.00 in the morning.

I think people are frustrated because whenever Joey "lets off steam" as you call it, this invariably involves violence.

But he wasn't, was he Paul? Because he wasn't outside a nightclub at 5am? And if he were he probably wouldn't have ended up in a fight.

They could begin by comparing how many violent incidents JB and AT have been involved in previously. I wonder who wins that?

Except for the fact he got attacked and the perpetrators were arrested. It's not frustration I'm reading, but outright anger and condemnation in some cases.

It's all getting a bit boring tbh, at least wait until you know exactly what happened.
If its shown that he done anything wrong then all the haters can get together and have a good debate about the " shame of it" ..
                          Barton is Innocent ok....

First I saw of the incident was waking up and got the story from my Sky Sports app. It states Joey voluntarily walked away. He did not start it, and did his best to not get involved.
